Remote sensor not available in Indigo

I have a new Ecobee thermostat (SmartThermostat with voice control), firmware ver 4.16.15.142, and one remote sensor. I have reloaded the plug-in, but am unable to see the remote sensor.
Have you a suggestion?
Thanks,
Bob

Re: Remote sensor not available in Indigo

Was the remote sensor added to your system after you created the Indigo device for the thermostat? Have you tried deleting the thermostat and recreating it (making sure the remote sensor checkbox is checked)?

If it's still not working, use the "Write Thermostat Data to Log" menu option (in Plugins->Ecobee 2) and post that output here.

Re: Remote sensor not available in Indigo

I don't remember when I added the remote sensor.
Deleting the thermostat will delete all my work on schedules, triggers and actions. I'll need a moment to do that. I'll let you know if I can solve the problem by this step.

Wait. I thought you mean that the plugin didn't see the remote sensor, so you couldn't create an Indigo device for it. But you said you did create the device.

Please explain exactly what you have and what you mean by enable to see the sensor.

Post the data from the menu command so I can see what data the plugin is working with.

Re: Remote sensor not available in Indigo

In the house, I have 1 thermostat and 1 remote device.
Ecobee knows about both the thermostat and the remote device.
When setting up the thermostat, I do not recall whether or not I had the remote device configured with Ecobee when I created the Ecobee connection with Indigo.
Indigo knows about the thermostat, but I am unable to create a device in indigo for the remote sensor.
I hope this clarifies my situation.

Re: Remote sensor not available in Indigo

I still need to see the data dump.

Then, set the plugin logging to "Debugging Messages", and go through the steps you're doing now to create the remote sensor device.

Then post the log info as well.

Re: Remote sensor not available in Indigo

That says you already have an Indigo device for the remote sensor, named 'Ecobee Front Hall Remote - North Office'.

Re: Remote sensor not available in Indigo

But why can't a create a device in Indigo?
What I am trying to do is use the occupied state as a trigger to monitor inside activity in our home when we are away.
...
I just discovered that I can do that - the device is available for a trigger and listed as a device when I search for ecobee. What confused me is that the remote sensor wasn't mentioned in the dialogue for creating a new device, while the thermostat was mentioned.
Glad I didn't delete my thermostat.
Thank you for your patience.

You can't create it because it already exists.

What's probably confusing you is that the occupancy sensor is not created as a separate device. It's the on/off part of the temperature sensor device.
