Hi Jon, Hope you are keeping well.

I have a question on polling when we have a separate temperature sensor. Does the plugin poll temperature and TRV valve status, or only the temperature? If we are using Aqara sensors for the temperature for instance, is there any impact to battery life of the Spirit if we poll every minute? For some rooms I want it to react faster to changing temperatures but also not keen to make the Spirit batttery last even less time than it does.

Having a play with one to see impact, but good to know from you the details.

Thanks

Ah, just seen it sends request for Humidity, Temperature and Valve. Any chance we could poll remote thermostats separately from the valve?

It's doable but not in the immediate short-term - I will add it to the list for when I next look at the plugin. :)

Cheers.. less of an issue at the moment, as obviously my systems is mainly off. But a few rooms do need a little boost first thing, but with that and the sun heating the room means the temp can rise quickly, and as it can be a while before the plugin sees it the room then can overheat.

Large number of outages and TRV controller not turning on heat.

Went into my lounge was 17c when I went into it today- odd because TWO TRV controllers on two radiators were off.

The TRV controllers are set to hit 20C for front radiator and 21C for back radiator.

Checked TRV controller - restarted TRC Controller - no joy.

Most of the household Radiator - Valve components are showing as no ack - but the TRVs are showing connection - not sure how the device is connected but the valve of the device is not.

The Lounge Rear radiator shows connected but the actual TRV is showing INC and is not syncing

The Front Valve ia 12 inches from the Zawave device and still the VALVE cannot connect.

Weird on so many levels

Why have most of the Valves all decided to go offline?

Why are the TRV Controllers demanding heat when it is so much below target?

Any clues helpful

I have to go out for a few hours and will Catch up on my return

Yup

All the TRVs failed at the same time.

Other ZWave devices seem ok.

What would cause 8 ZWAVE TRVs to fail the same day?

Any ideas?

The other strange things how the TRV controller is working

Shows the Target Temp as 21C and the current Temp is 18.9C and shows Heat as Off?

Why is it ignoring the Temp and not turning on heat?

Totally bizarre

The Front radiator is now showing as connected - and ON - Heat - but is COLD
The Back radiator is showing no ack (with an update 5 mins ago) and is Showing as Valve OFF Device Heat On

Very very very peculiar and makes no sense at all

The TRV Controller is showing with BOTH Front and Back as Off while BOTH TRV Controllers show TEMP BELOW TARGET

OK

Now at a state where the TRV Controller is NOT turning on Heat and NOT turning on Radiators.

And appears to have suffered a catastrophic loss of basic math skills.

i.e. in TRV Controller logic 20.3 > 25 therefore DO NOT TURN ON HEAT.

Yes 25 - I have set the target to 25C and completely rebooted computer

and still TRV Controller is declaring 20/3 > 25C

I am at a complete loss as to why the TRVs are failing and the TRV logic is suffering a lobotomy.

Just picked up your tale of woe. :?

Has it been working and then suddenly gone wrong or is it the colder weather that has triggered activity.

I had the plugin disabled over the summer but switched it back on in the last week having gone round and made sure all the batteries were refreshed / recharged. My system seems to be behaving OK (not that helps you but it is a frame of reference).

You mentioned that one of the devices had gone into INClude mode, which seems a bit odd. I don't understand why every single valve would be no-ack; I could understand one or two.

Anyway, haven't got any instant suggestions but I will be around tomorrow and can investigate further with you. :)

Jon

I am seeing that the TRV devices are sometimes taking 30 seconds to open.

and worse you can't save them.... keep getting errors

Related to weird behaviour...

The fundamental issue I am having is that certainly the two lounge TRV Controllers are NOT turning on the Heating and NOT setting the Demand Variable to TRUE. when the current temp is below the target.

I am writing manual triggers to manage the TRVs to give me rundamentary basic control of the heating.

I think you said y her restarted the plugin but have you restarted all of indigo or even the Mac. Something is in a mess and that might help.
