Connection Reset by Peer Error

Folks -

I noticed to day that my (outdoor) temperature readings seemed off and found this thread. However, my issue seems not consistent with the resolution suggested here:

My MacMini is on High Sierra 10.13.6. <check>
Cynical Weather v1.2.1 <seems the latest version>
Dark Sky API is valid <check> but on Match 4th, around 11pm CET my API calls to Dark Sky stopped working.

The error I get is: "Amsterdam unavailable: [Errno 54] Connection reset by peer"

My python version is 2.7.16:

Hi Ronald - thanks for the report. Are your calls to Dark Sky working now? They were performing maintenance on their services and were switching security protocols on and off during the process. If the service is currently working, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Please do report if the service is not working for you.

Right... So my assumption was what there was something odd with my python version. But, after installing FantasticWeather (in addition to CynicalWeather), I WAS able to retrieve data from Dark Sky again! Seems to be an issue with CynicalWeather, at least on my setup...

I'll swap my temperature readings to FW, I guess!

Our posts crossed each other it seems. I currently have both CynicalWeather and FantasticWeather active. Cynical does not work but Fantastic does...

The good news is: it's 10C outside, and not 4!

I just noticed that my Cynical Weather plugin also is getting the "connection reset by peer" error. Apparently it started the afternoon of 4 March with no other errors around that time. MacOS 10.14.4

I took a quick look at the Cynical Weather plugin and it's not immediately clear to me how it's pulling in data from Dark Sky. It doesn't appear to be using requests.py (which is what Fantastic Weather uses) which could account for the difference.
