Icon Set

Hi - just wondered if anyone had a set of icon files for the fantastic Weather / Dark Sky API
I'm just feeling lazy and trying to avoid splitting the Climacons-Font icons out of a single file :-)
TIA
Peter

The Fantastic Weather Plugin Wiki has tips and links that may be of help. I've added a link to a ZIP of the icons I use there, which I believe are in the public domain and are freely distributable. My current weather icons are quasi-realistic and the forecast icons are more cartoonish.

Your message prompted me to look at my icon set for my production server and I realized that my install was screwed up in the migration from WU to FW (so thanks for that!)

I have a set I use for dark Sky (in large and small size) - not sure how to easily post them here....

I have a set I made that you’re welcome to if you like.
They are transparent bac .png.
Here’s a couple samples.

@norcoscia and @ckeyes888 (and anyone else willing to share their FW icon sets)

If you'd be willing to send me a ZIP file, I'd love to add your icon sets to the Wiki for others to use.

Dave

Afraid not (too risky) for Matt & Jay's business. I'll PM you an email address to send it to.

And thanks for sharing!

Question...

for the Astronomy device, I see moon phase is reported in percentage 0-100.

I currently had a set of 30 moon phase icons (age+) 1-30.

Am I correct in guessing I would now have to label them appropriately to include the 0-100 range? ie my 1 would now become 0, my 30 would now become 100, and I would have to rename the other's appropriately based on the 100%

Or, is there a subset of specific numbers reported in the 0-100 range for moon phase?

Thank in advance!

Dave

From the Dark Sky docs:

Dark Sky wrote:
moonPhase optional, only on daily
The fractional part of the lunation number during the given day: a value of 0 corresponds to a new moon, 0.25 to a first quarter moon, 0.5 to a full moon, and 0.75 to a last quarter moon. (The ranges in between these represent waxing crescent, waxing gibbous, waning gibbous, and waning crescent moons, respectively.)

You could do 100 images which sounds like a lot of work, or you could have a simple script write a value to a variable that compacts the ranges into 8 or 9 categorical values and plot off that. The latter would be my preference

If you're talking about for use on a control page, note that the image selection heuristics allow for ranges of values assuming the value used to determine the image is numeric. I will say I don't know if it'll work with non-integers though...

Thanx guys...

Yes for use with a control page, and yes, thats what i was counting on (the heuristics).

The icon set i have is for the 30 “standard” moon phases, i was using with wunderground plugin. I was hoping there was some type of correlation with the fw plugin.

Will try with the closest integer values converting from my 30 to 100
