Weathersnoop plugin not working with WS 3.1.5 pre-flight

Just changed over from Weathersnoop 3.1.4 to 3.1.5 pre-flight 1028.
Seems that the indigo plugin breaks with the new json data format?

Here is the error posted in the log...
WeatherSnoop Error Couldn't get information for site - check WeatherSnoop for issues: /EF1FAAD0-5FEB-4131-B84B-BA08625EAECD.json

Tried restarting server, disabling and re-enabling plugin (v2.0.10).
No luck.
Running Indigo 6.1.10 on the same machine.

When I try to add a weathersnoop device, Indigo can find the server but complains that it can't find an agent.
Any ideas?

Thanks.

I just talked to Boisy and he did make a change to his API. For the moment, you're going to want to avoid 3.1.5 until I can find some time to look into it. We're heads down trying to get Indigo 7 ready to ship so it may not happen very quickly.

Sorry about this guys. 3.1.5 pre-flight fixes an issue, which unfortunately breaks Indigo's WeatherSnoop plug-in. Please stay on 3.1.4 until we can get this resolved.

:D :D :D :D SAY WHAT! :D :D :D :D

Don't worry - I can just download mine you don't have to ship. But I appreciate the thought. Email me the link.

Just an update on this:

I've updated pre-flight build 1029 so that you can "flip a switch" to preserve the old behavior. To do this, go to the Terminal.app and type:

Code: Select all
defaults write com.tee-boy.WeatherSnoop3 Indigo -bool true

This turns on the old behavior of embedding the entire local URL into the XML/JSON responses and will allow the WeatherSnoop 3 plug-in for Indigo to continue to work.

Note that this is a work-around until I can get with Jay to revisit the WeatherSnoop 3 plug-in. Engaging this switch also means that using the WeatherSnoop iOS app outside of your local network will fail. Because of this, the switch is by default, off. I also expect to remove it as soon as the WeatherSnoop 3 plug-in for Indigo can be updated.

I entered the suggested string in Terminal, but to no avail.
I wonder if it is possible to download WS 3.1.4 to replace 3.1.5 until this is fixed?

Jay sent me an updated Indigo plug-in which fixes the issue. I'm not sure if it's available for download yet, however. Jay, is it posted?

It'll be in the next Indigo 6 build.

Indigo 6.1.11 is now available for download and it addresses this API change.

I am still seeing regular crashing of the Indigo client (not server) and/or the Weathersnoop application while running the Weathersnoop plugin. When I disable the Weathersnoop plugin, no crashing occurs. Apparently they do not work or play well with each other. And this may, of course, be caused by my early upgrade to Mac OS 10.12.

Weathersnoop 3.1.5
Indigo 6.1.11
----> Mac OS 10.12
on a 2010 Mac Pro

Send one of the crash report files to support@indigodomo.com and reference this thread. A client crash would seem to be very unlikely to be caused by a plugin, but the crash report will give us more information.
