Undecoded Packets

I recently purchased the rfxcom rcvr, got it set up and working with 2 temp sensors, and its awesome! (And I've learned a LOT about my indigo system's capabilities)

During my setup and debug, I've turned on support for every make of sensor, and recording unknown sensors and un decoded packets. My question now is that I seem to see a lot of undecoded packets. Example:

RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 06 03 04 02 0C A9 E0
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 08 03 04 02 1F BE AD 15 26

RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 08 03 04 02 20 D0 FA 40 B3
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 09 03 04 02 24 C7 E5 69 A9 50
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 09 03 04 02 24 AD 0F A3 F6 50
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 09 03 04 02 24 AD 0F A3 F6 50
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 07 03 04 02 18 FA 3F 65
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 07 03 04 02 15 B4 D4 98
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 08 03 04 02 1F BF FC 00 3C

RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 08 03 04 02 1F BF FC 00 3C
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 09 03 04 02 22 B4 3E 8F D9 40
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 06 03 04 02 0E FD 94
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 06 03 04 02 0D D4 98
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 09 03 04 02 24 AD 0F A4 0B 30
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 06 03 04 02 0D D4 98
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 09 03 04 02 27 95 A1 F6 80 8E
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 07 03 04 02 18 FB 40 47
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 07 03 04 02 12 FC EC 40
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 06 03 04 02 0C FF E0
RFXCOM Error undecoded packet received: 07 03 04 02 17 AE 15 1A

Is there any way to sort out what these units are? Or to add the ability to decode them?

I do not have neighbors close to me, so I assume its something in my own house, but I'm not sure what it could be.

Is there any process to manually decode or ID these?

Thanks

Re: Undecoded Packets

Do not enable "undec on"!
This is for diagnostic purposes only. Most of the undecoded messages are a result of RF noise or bad sensor data received.

And to make the RFXtrx433 as sensitive as possible enable only the protocols you need.
See chapter 2.4 http://www.rfxcom.com/Documents/RFXtrx% ... 0Guide.pdf

Re: Undecoded Packets

I understand the settings to make this go away, and that its suboptimal to leave them all on. I also understand the magic of RF. (since I run an ARS here, KE4GLA)

I have an earlier model of the RFXCOM device, and its unable to hear these signals, (though it sometimes gets what it thinks is a bathroom scale) yet they are here, and VERY predictable.

My question is still, is there a way to decrypt these manually? Or is this just garbage a result of some repetitive intermod or something?

Re: Undecoded Packets

I also have found that one of my XBMC remotes, a Firefly rf remote, shows up as an "unknown device detected type 48"

Anyway to utilize that? That would be way cool to tie a button on my remote to my system and have it speak the pool temp and the outside temp.

Re: Undecoded Packets

A new version is available with support for this remote control http://www.rjdekok.nl/downloads/RFXCOM.indigoPlugin.zip
Select an "ATI, Medion, PC Remote".

Re: Undecoded Packets

That is awesome, thanks.

Seems like my plugin ver dropped, did I read that wrong?

Everything still works, so I guess I won't argue ;
