TFA temperature sensor

Hi there,

can anybody confirm that a TFA 30.3133 external wired sensor will work with the RFXCOM plug-in?
There are included in the list of supported sensors on the RFXCOM website.

These are not only reasonable priced, the casing can remain indoors with only the sensor on the outside thus saving the batteries from the cold and improving signal strength.
I had also thought of using one to monitor the temperature in the deep freezer with a trigger to send out an email if the temperature goes above a specified limit.

regards

Tim

Re: TFA temperature sensor

If this sensor is used with the AC protocol (Hideki and AC enabled) you need to update the RFXtrx433 with firmware version 64.
Version 64 is expected to be available next week.

Re: TFA temperature sensor

I have now ordered 2 of these sensors to try out. At less than €10 each its worth the risk.
While I was at it I also ordered a wind sensor TFA 30.3149, a rain sensor TFA 30.3148 and a Temp/Humidity sensor 30.3126
Hopefully I can integrate them all with no problems.
I will report back.

Re: TFA temperature sensor

not all TFA sensors are supported.

For the supported sensors see http://www.rfxcom.com/oregon.htm

Re: TFA temperature sensor

Unfortunately the RFXCOM list only states "anemometer" and "Rain sensor" as being compatible but doesn't give a part number.
I have ordered them via the internet so will have the opportunity to return them if they don't work.
I am also not sure if the RFXCOM plug-in automatically supports all of the devices the RFXtrx433 can handle?

Re: TFA temperature sensor

I received the sensors this morning. (Hats off to Hans for the fast delivery! www.hans-hats.de)
Everything was detected immediately and seems to be working as expected. (Even though I didn't update to the newest RFXCOM firmware. No Windows computer available at the moment)
I'll update at the weekend after I get everything installed properly.

Re: TFA temperature sensor

I'm looking for the same type of product - but available in the US. Does anyone know of a RFXCOM-compatible sensor with external temp probe available in the US? The OS THC238 appears discontinued.
