Re: New version of the RFXTRX Plugin available

Using this plugin a lot. Mostly happy.

Is it possible to add LWRF "lock mode" support? It is highly useful for wall sockets - we've got very active 2yr old boy and I'd be happy to lock all wall sockets... Child safety.
In a lock mode, sockets are not reacting on a physical buttons (on / off).

Old LWRF plugin supports that, as well as RFXcom itself. It should be very easy to implement...

- Implemented Somfy verticals
To make it compatible with the ordinary Somfy, the Up and Down functions are not connected with the On/Off buttons anymore but need to be defined as actions.
- Harrison implemented
- Blyss Lightning implemented

!None of the above protocols is tested in a live environment as i don't have this equipment. Please let me know if it works or if you encounter any problems.

Hi, I have tried to use the angle function on my new somfy controlled vertical blinds. But have run in to some issues. Please see my description in this thread:

Re: New version of the RFXTRX Plugin available

Hi, just got my rfxtrx today so I'm trying to download the plugin but I'm just getting a gateway time out. Is this just a temporary thing or is there a mirror somewhere? I'll obviously try again tomorrow, was just excited all day to get home and try it out!

Thanks

Re: New version of the RFXTRX Plugin available

Sorry to be annoying, but will try to ask again.

Could you please add LWRF power sockets "lock mode" support (buttons pressed to switch on socket are ignored)? Child safety, my boy is growing and is very active now.

It is fully supported by the RFXTRX...

Re: New version of the RFXTRX Plugin available

Hello
I would like to make a scheduled task to reload RFXCOM plugin with such python command :

plugin = indigo.server.getPlugin("com.homeautomationplugins.vera")
if plugin.isEnabled():
plugin.restart()

but I don't find the plugin id of the rfxom. I tried "com.homeautomationplugins.rfxcom" but it's not working and I didn't find anything in the forums.

Thanks a lot for help
Patrice

Re: New version of the RFXTRX Plugin available

The string you want is nl.rjdekok.indigoplugin.RFXCOM :)

For future reference, the way to find it is:
  • Navigate to indigo Plugins folder at /Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 6/Plugins
  • Right click required plugin and select Show Package Contents
  • Open Contents folder
  • Open Info.plist with a text editor
  • The name is in the string following the key CFBundleIdentifier
Hope this helps :)

Hi RjdeKok,

FYI:

I updated my RFXtrx433 to firmware 90 and the plugin (1.6.3) keeps trying to initialize communication and it fails, it did manage to connect once, but after a restart of the plugin it keeps failing.

RFX-manager in windows sees it instantly.

They must have changed how the newer firmware communicates, I tried firmware 88 - 90 with the same results.

I had to go back to firmware 69, that I had been using for years with the plugin and it connects instantly, every time.

Thanks.

Re: New version of the RFXTRX Plugin available

I am currently running firmware version 231 (24-09-2014) in my RFXtrx433E.

I see that firmware release 433_80/180/233 (13-12-2014) includes:
LWRF receive improved
which is something that might help with intermittent communication failures from my LWRF Mood Switches?

The latest firmware version (as of today) is release 433_90/190/244 (23-06-2015)

Just wondering what firmware versions others are running successfully with Indigo.
Thought it best to check before I attempt a firmware upgrade. :)

Re: New version of the RFXTRX Plugin available

in case you need to go back to 231 you can request this version using the Contact page at rfxcom.com , but I guess 244 will perform better or at least equal.

Re: New version of the RFXTRX Plugin available

Unfortunately that firmware doesn't do anything to improve lwrf receive for me, still the same occasional intermittent problems.. :(

Is that 233 or 244 you're talking about?

Re: New version of the RFXTRX Plugin available

If the RSSI value is 5 or lower you can improve the receive signal strength using another location or another antenna, for example:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/GSM-GPRS-Antenn ... 3a93b0b392

A very short button press transmits also a very short RF signal that can be disturbed easily by other RF sensor signals.
Door switches or motion sensors can produce a lot of RF traffic for a few seconds and other RF signals are disturbed. Best is to use X10 DS90 and MS13 for door switches and motion sensors.

Enable only the required receive protocols in the RFXtrx. Transmit protocols are always enabled.

The location of the RFXtrx is also important. The switch board is not the best place due to all metal object. See also chapter 2.5 in the RFXtrx User Guide.
