RFXCOM / LightwaveRF "state key brightnesslevel" error

Got a weird error when trying to turn on a LightwaveRF light via RFCOM. Light is paired and working as I can test using the on/off pane under 'devices'

Am seeing this in the Event Log

device "Master Bedroom Light" state key brightnessLevel not defined (ignoring update request)

I don't get this if I do not put a 'brightness' value in the config, however the light still doesn't turn on :(

Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?

Re: RFXCOM / LightwaveRF "state key brightnesslevel" error

Is the device setup as a dimmer or switch/appliance?

Computer says no.

Re: RFXCOM / LightwaveRF "state key brightnesslevel" error

Thanks Durosity - Changed the 'Device' from LWAppliance to LWDimmer but still doesn't work - however the error msg has dissappeared from the event log and I know get a brightness control in the Operation Panel.

Its weird that I can control it under the Device Tab but not as part of an Action :(

Thoughts?

Have you tried deleting the action and creating a new one? Perhaps something has just got stuck?

Computer says no.

School Boy error in the end.... I was sending the 'Status to the Server' instead of executing the command to turn on and off the light.

@Durosity - Thanks for the tip on Appliance / Dimmer however
