Zones disabled in the Mac Client UI

Rachio plugin is working well, except that zone 4 (of 5 zones) is greyed-out in Indigo and unable to otherwise have Indigo interact with that one zone.

Able to control and monitor that zone from iPhone App and through Rachio's website.

Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

The plugin gets the enabled zones from the Rachio API - so make sure that the zone is actually enabled in the Rachio app.

Between Jan 23 and Jan 24. I was running version 1.0.1 at that time.

I found some old logs including those dates. see 1/23/18 and 1/24/18

Also looked at few going back to when I know everything was working just fine. see 1/13/18
I see errors but not sure which are normal and which are not.

I found a few days where the logs reference an error getting forecast data but I can confirm I did get forecast those days. See 1/18/18 and 12/23/17

Did you try what I asked?

Thanks Jay. It was already enabled in the iPhone App. After reading your post, I took the following steps, but Zone 4 is still grey in Indigo: (1) Disable zone 4 in Rachio App, (2) reload Rachio Plugin, (3) Enable Zone 4 in Rachio App, and (4) reload Rachio Plugin.

Toggle debugging, restart the plugin, then look in both the Event Log and in the plugin's log file to see if there are any clues there.

Re: Rachio Plugin

Hmmm. Try deleting the device and recreating it.

Thanks Jay.

Deleted, recreated. No change. Zone 4 stays grey.

The only Rachio entry in the log during delete / re-create is the following:

" Rachio Sprinklers Error Rachio device 'new device' configured with unknown ID. Reconfigure the device to make it active."

Re: Rachio Plugin

Also tried the following:
    Disable Rachio plugin,
    Delete Rachio device from Indio,
Delete plugin and plugin's preference and log files,
    Empty trash,
    Restart Mac
    reinstall Rachio plugin,
    Created new Rachio device.

Same result. Zone 4 is grey.

Deleted and recreated another Rachio device with debugging toggled ON. Here is log:
Code: Select all
Rachio Sprinklers               Turning on debug logging
   Reloading plugin "Rachio Sprinklers 1.0.3"
Stopping plugin "Rachio Sprinklers 1.0.3" (pid 698)

Starting plugin "Rachio Sprinklers 1.0.3" (pid 702)
   Started plugin "Rachio Sprinklers 1.0.3"
Rachio Sprinklers Debug         Starting concurrent tread
...{SQL Logger entries removed.  No errors}
Rachio Sprinklers Error         Rachio device 'new device' configured with unknown ID. Reconfigure the device to make it active.

I think you have a device named 'new device' that failed during creation that's hanging around there. Be sure to delete that one.

Open a terminal window and paste in this command (though you need to substitute your API key and Device ID (it's the 'id' state in the custom states list):

Code: Select all
curl -X GET -H "Content-Type: application/json" -H "Authorization: Bearer APIKEYHERE" https://api.rach.io/1/public/device/DEVICEIDHERE > rachio.json

That should download the full device description using the Rachio API and write it into the file rachio.json. Email that file to me along with a link to this thread so I'll know what it's for.

As I said in my reply email, it appears to be a bug in the Indigo Client around max zone durations. Try setting it to something lower than 32767.

Jay. Greatly appreciate your help. While I couldn’t find a menu in the Rachio app to allow direct adjustment of that value, by adjusting other values, such as root depth, mist have indirectly changed that value.

Zone 4 is back and the plugin works great. Thanks!

Re: Rachio Plugin

So, it is a bug in the client that we'll look at addressing this in a future version. The issue is when the time exceeds the max value that a 16-bit signed integer can hold. Note it's just a bug in the client (the server is perfectly happy with larger values). However, having a max value that high is normally impractical.

Re: Rachio Plugin

About Indigo sprinkler controls - is I can clear the zone history and force Indigo sprinkler controls to accept the latest Rachio list of zone names? Right now I have a garbled list of earlier zone names, with all the later ones I've added in Rachio not named in sprinkler controls. (see pic below). In the pic, zones 1 –3 and 5 are listed with their correct names. The name for zone 4 takes up three lines, part bold, part gray. Zones 15 – 16 are missing their names completely.

I've tried deleting the device, deleting all the plugin from my machine, then shutting down the server, restarting and install the plugin, create a new device, but the problem persists.

On the schedule side, everything is working perfectly.

Thanks for any input on this!
