Re: LED Simple Effects Plugin (for Fibaro RGBW)

Glen

I've got a Fibaro RGBW device and the plugin works as expected. I am curious about 2 things..

1. how do I save Custom Colors ?

2. How do I set up "patterns"

I don't see any documentation on these two items so perhaps I've just missed it...

Also, and this is not a complaint, but custom colors cannot be selected from a Mac running the "client" version of the software... this must be done on the Mac serving Indigo... Not sure if you were aware or not...

Hi - Glad it works as expected.

Not sure I follow your questions.

Custom Colors for bulbs/device - you will need to set from within indigo - the plugin doesn’t change RGB light handling in any way.
Patterns - are preset by Fibaro and can’t be altered. Aeon Labs has some better adjustability.

This plugin just enables you to easily turn them on and off, simple, that’s it.

What do you mean by Custom Colors? Client/server issues probably more of an indigo issue I suspect. Plugins don’t know where you are running or adjusting them. What issues are you seeing?

Yes, the color picker dialog only runs on the host machine. This is also the case with shell windows and other things as well. It’s the way OS X works, not Indigo or the plugin.

Re: LED Simple Effects Plugin (for Fibaro RGBW)

1. Custom Colors. I was hoping for a way to SAVE my own custom colors... so that I could recall them by name and not have to "pick" them again..."My Saved Colors"... I don't see how to Save the colors that I pick.

2. Paterns. When creating an Action Group using LED Light Manager Actions, one option is "Change a device or.... using a Pattern..." I can select my Fibro device, but in the next pop up menu, it says "no patterns found". Just trying to figure out how "patterns" are supposed to work.... I've got a Fibro device connected to an RGBW LED strip.

Everything else, I got!! Thanks..

You can set saved color states using Action Groups.

Obviously, yes.

But this makes no use of the popup menu in the "LED Light Manager Actions->Chance A Device Group to a selected color->"My Saved Colours" . ... indicating there is a way to save custom colors, and equally importantly, recall them in other actions later, instead of having to enter the color parameters every time you need/want the same color...

Any chance of adding support for the Aeotec LED Strip? Thanks!

I’ll have a look and see what is possible when back in a week or so.

Hi
Added support for ZW121 on latest version on github
https://github.com/Ghawken/Indigo-SimpleLED

Helped by buying one!

Not completely working as would like - the colour selectors don’t seem to function as should. Think there is a error in the manual as mentions 4 bits but then only shows 3 bits for one of the important options. Seems limited info available regarding working parameters but I’ll keep working on it - but meanwhile welcome to trial as well.

Re: LED Simple Effects Plugin (for Fibaro RGBW)

Thanks, Glenn! It seems to work except that I was not able to test all the functions since the action selection dialog is too small and can't be resized. (Edit: dialog box is working now. Have no idea why)

Also, I just got some more info from Aeon about some missing data in the manual:

Heres some more information on the Color Change Speed Option, typically I would leave the value as 1 for this setting.
(image attached)
values 0 and 1 uses smooth transition, while 2-4 is used for fade out fade in transition.

Have manual here:
https://shopcdn.textalk.se/shop/ws27/47 ... _Strip.pdf

Parameter 37 is causing some issues - as is starting a multi-color selected mode.
Color display mode is listed as having 4 bits, but bigger breakdown shows 3.

Have you any working parameter 37 examples? either to guide my issues, and/or for adding to selection menu.

Thanks

Much different than the manual I have that came with the device but probably the same info in the end. I'll have to study it to see.

Here are some I send to 37 with Indigo Z-wave actions:

150994944 Fade rainbow colors
1224736847 Slow speed fade in/out
1224736815 Medium speed fade in/out
