Error when adding a trigger for Cynical SecuritySpy

Hi Dewster,

If you load http://securityspy-server-address:8000/++eventStream in a web browser (Safari, Chrome), after a short time you should see some events come up (maybe set the cameras to Passive then Active mode, that will send some events through and cause Safari to display the text), do you see motion events shown here? Please compare SecuritySpy 2.2.4 and 3.0.4 to see if there is a difference. If you enable motion recording in SecuritySpy 3.0.4, do you get files being captured in response to motion detection?

I should note, I thought before I was getting weird results if an action upon motion were selected, such as a beep or bringing up the preview camera window, however, this seemed to be on the last release and testing without anything checked still gave similar results to the 3.0.4 version above.

Update... not sure if the plugin didn't like the flip flopping between 3.x and 2.x or what, but a reboot of the server seems to have resolved the issue and I'm now registering motion without having a motion action selected. Thanks for all the work to get to the bottom of the issue to all.

However there is one difference between version 2 and 3 that I can see: in version 3, some motion-activated option has to be enabled in SecuritySpy itself, in addition to the motion-detection option being simply turned on (i.e. MD recording, or any action under the Actions tab in the Camera Settings window), otherwise the motion event won't turn up in the event stream.

And this is what I was seeing before... and when I seemed to have an action selected, it did seem to pick up the motion events... but I don't think it was working all the time.

Thanks for the follow-up. Your output from 3.0.4 clearly shows motion events in the event stream, so it appears to be working. Hopefully the server restart was all that was required to fix it!
