Security Spy Setup and Troubleshooting

I've scoured this forum trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm currently using Security Spy with my IPCC camera. While Security Spy is working with the camera, when I try to integrate with Indigo, it isn't working. I've installed and reinstalled the Security Spy/Indigo plugin, and it continues to hang on "Preparing." As I troubleshoot the various settings, it alternates between "unavailable" and "preparing."

Can someone provide step-by-step instructions. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious.

Has this happened to anyone else that can provide some insight?

Many thanks!
Darren

Re: Security Spy Setup and Troubleshooting

Just to check you have enabled access within security spy? Also enable the debug log and post it here, that might help!

Re: Security Spy Setup and Troubleshooting

Thanks for the reply. I believe I've enabled security spy. I really don't know. Here's the event log. Like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if I've overlooked something obvious. I just can't...

Re: Security Spy Setup and Troubleshooting

Interestingly i've just went to re-set up Security Spy after having not used it for a while, and i'm having the same issue.. so I suspect something to do with the latest version. I'm going to try an older version later, i'll report how i get on.

Re: Security Spy Setup and Troubleshooting

Well, this gets stranger and stranger. I've narrowed it down to authentication.. as in if you disable logins then it works fine, but as soon as you enable it i get the exact same as you:

Code: Select all
30 Sep 2015 20:40:37
Cynical SecuritySpy Error       Server - SecuritySpy Server unavailable: ('401', 'Unauthorized')
Cynical SecuritySpy             Server - SecuritySpy Server stopping
Cynical SecuritySpy             Server - SecuritySpy Server starting
Cynical SecuritySpy             Server - SecuritySpy Server reset
Cynical SecuritySpy             Dining - Camera reset
Cynical SecuritySpy             Lounge - Camera reset
Cynical SecuritySpy             Outdoors - Front Door Camera reset

30 Sep 2015 20:42:17
Cynical SecuritySpy Error       Server - SecuritySpy Server unavailable: ('401', 'Unauthorized')
Cynical SecuritySpy Error       Dining - Camera unavailable: host device Server - SecuritySpy Server is unavailable
Cynical SecuritySpy Error       Lounge - Camera unavailable: host device Server - SecuritySpy Server is unavailable
Cynical SecuritySpy Error       Outdoors - Front Door Camera unavailable: host device Server - SecuritySpy Server is unavailable

I've also reverted back to older versions of v2 and v3, i've tried different port numbers for the HTTP setting, i can login using the web interface as i've always been able to, but beyond this as i'm using the exact same plugin as i was previously i can only assume it's something to do with an OSX update. Has anyone else out there had this kind of behaviour?

Re: Security Spy Setup and Troubleshooting

Running version 1.6.4 of the plugin and 3.4.7 of Security Spy with authentication on a mac mini running 10.9.5, no problems here.

Re: Security Spy Setup and Troubleshooting

Thanks for looking into this! Very excited to get all this equipment working. I must admit, I was feeling like a bonehead spending all this time and getting nowhere. If you uncover the glitch, please post a step-by-step setup process.

Again, thanks!

Re: Security Spy Setup and Troubleshooting

Alas no joy, I've also tried connecting to a new installation of Security Spy on my MacBook and same issue, so it's got to be either something local to the mac mini or the Indigo plugin. :/

Re: Security Spy Setup and Troubleshooting

Much appreciate that you've continued to look into this. Do you have any other thoughts regarding any plugins that may work more reliably with Indigo? I've used Blue Iris in the past. But that's not Mac friendly.

Re: Security Spy Setup and Troubleshooting

Well the funny thing is i've had this plugin working fully in the past. And it was rock solid (as Perry's plugins usually are). As best i can tell it's an environmental issue.. but i'm stumped as to what it could be.

Re: Security Spy Setup and Troubleshooting

I'm new to Indigo and just purchased the software. I've setup the plug-in but can't figure out how to display the camera on a control page.

Re: Security Spy Setup and Troubleshooting

I seem to get this error when I run the plugin, any ideas?
