Future Indigo Plugin Support for NuHeat?

I'm posting this question for MPoulson or any other past/present users of the plugin.

In my experience, the plugin no longer supports adding new devices, though it still seems to work for my existing NuHeat device. I observe the plugin seems to be coded in v2.x python so without an update, it will cease to work after Indigo v2022.2.

So is anyone else (besides myself) interested in further support of NuHeat thermostat in Indigo? I'm told (by Jay) that the version of the plugin in the git repository does not include python source. Mpoulson if you are still watching these forums, is there any chance you would be willing to provide source and allow someone else to take over the plugin?

Anyone else have any alternatives or suggestions?

No news, so I'll take that we would have to start from scratch!

Re: Future Indigo Plugin Support for NuHeat?

I don't have one of these but I did take a look at the old plugin, and indeed while some of the source is missing, I suspect it may be a third party NuHeat https://github.com/broox/python-nuheat Python library rather than bespoke code. It doesn't have a license associated, so I will need guidance on forking this.

The other component is the update checker which is no longer required, and can be removed.

I don't have a device to develop to but I don't mind having a go if someone is prepared to share temporary credentials (and I won't mess with it :D )

If it doesn't have a license, you can probably fork it and use it privately. But you can't publish the code to others.

If there's a useable Python3 library, best to start from scratch with an all-new plugin.

Re: Future Indigo Plugin Support for NuHeat?

I sent an email earlier to that developer about a different plugin, but never received a response. Given that there are compiled bits in the plugin, I agree with Joe - it would probably be best to just build a new plugin.
