Is there any way to send a line break in the message? I have tried \n and a few other codes for a newline character, but none seem to be working.

This is a bit of an issue with the Indigo configuration dialog, more than the plugin... There is not a "multi-line text field" option to display. The good news is, there is a workaround:

You can put multiple lines in the box by pressing Option+Enter after your first line of text. It's kind of a pain since you can't see the full message, but you'll be able to use the arrow keys to go back up and edit the text.
