Hi
Really enjoying using MatPlotlib!!
On running the Mac mini back up in the new house I am getting issues.
Now to add to the confusion I moved the Indigo to an iMac.
So lots of potential for my goof ups.
Can you give me any insight into how to fix these:-
- Code: Select all
13 Jan 2019, 19:50:44
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart - Alt Temperature] list index out of range
13 Jan 2019, 19:51:00
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart - Downstairs Temperature 1] list index out of range
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart - Downstairs Temperature 2] list index out of range
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart - Fridge Temperature] list index out of range
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart - Key Temperatures] list index out of range
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart - Luminance - Sunroom] list index out of range
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart Mini - Trend Ensuite] Argument dimensions are incompatible
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart Mini - Trend Freezer] list index out of range
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart Mini - Trend Fridge] list index out of range
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart Mini - Trend Guest Bedroom] list index out of range
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart Mini - Trend Hallway] list index out of range
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart Mini - Trend Lounge] list index out of range
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart Mini - Trend Master Bedroom] list index out of range
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart Mini - Trend Molly Bedroom] list index out of range
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart Mini - Trend Outdoor Temp] list index out of range
Thanks
Mike

Hello Busta999 -- congratulations on the new house!
Sorry to hear that you've run into issues with the plugin. I believe that an upcoming release will make the plugin more resilient to what I think the problem to be, but that doesn't help you right now. The error you're seeing is likely due to the plugin being unable to see your CSV files or having insufficient access to the files and/or folder where the files are stored. I would first look at the plugin preferences to ensure that it's pointing to the location where the CSV files are saved, and then I would look at the authorities for the CSV folder and files themselves.
There are other possibilities, but this is the most likely scenario.

I can't tell from the screen print but you are creating the files in the path with the indigo 7.2 folder as opposed to Indigo 7 folder?

There may be a couple things going on.
Jon may be on to one possibility. Please go into the plugin preferences file and check the first two settings--the data folder path and the output chart path and ensure that they are proper for your version of Indigo (or your preferred location if it was originally somewhere else).
A second thing which may be related -- when I look at the plugin log output I notice the following about the tracebacks that are listed as compared to the screenshot of the folder you provided:
- Temp - Utility (Hue).csv (not in list of files)
- Sunroom Temp.csv (not in list of files)
- Kitchen MultiSensor Temperature.csv (not in list of files)
- Temp Kitchen (Hue).csv (in list of files, but apparently called: Temp - Kitchen (Hue).csv)
- Sunroom Luminance.csv (not in list of files)
The CSV files can be stored anywhere you like, so long as Indigo has authority to read the location (777 should do it.) The *default* location for the data and chart files is relative to Indigo 7 (and not Indigo 7.2) -- I'm going to make a change to that for the future.

It is in Indigo 7.2 because when updating from 7 to 7.2 the upgrade moved it to the 7.2 folder.
No idea how or why.
I'll clear out the missing files they are based upon rooms that don't exist in this house - so will clear that out and re-asses.
Open to ideas on how to move everything form 7.2 to just Indigo - which would be my preference.

I think Matt and Jay made the decision to move to the 7.2 naming convention and file system structure purposefully. I'd recommend not getting too creative to work around that.
What about it do you find unworkable?

The Indigo 7.2 installer should have copied over the files from the Indigo 7 folder to the 7.2 path. Each upgrade version (7.3, 7.x, 8.0, etc.) will now have its own folder tree. A bit of a pain, but required because users have to be able to revert to previous versions from a trial version.

@Dave17 I'm not finding unworkable at all - just working on your statement "The *default* location for the data and chart files is relative to Indigo 7 (and not Indigo 7.2)"
If that is not an issue then no issue for me

Sorry, I could have been more clear.
For new users, installing the plugin for the first time, the default location that would come up in the configuration preferences would be set relative to the Indigo 7 (not Indigo 7.2) folder tree. This would create understandable confusion for anyone not using Inidgo 7. You should definitely set that path relative to your version of Indigo.
Future versions of the plugin will not have that limitation.

Yeah, it seems that there is an issue when filling is turned on--it appears that all of the source CSV files need to have the same number of observations when filling. I believe that In each case where this has come up, turning off fill has silenced the error. I'm working to find a patch to address this.

Thanks but I don't think that is Fill that is causing the problem.
I recreated the chart. Using exactly the same config and it works fine - with Fill turned on.
Looks like I just need to recreate all my 25+ graphs.

Sorry that you have to go through that exercise -- it shouldn't be necessary if your new setup is configured the way the old one was (emphasis on the shouldn't, not to say it isn't). I did notice in your latest screen shot that you displayed only line 2's settings. Was there a line 1 as well? I assume there was, but thought I'd ask.

- Code: Select all
Matplotlib Critical Error [Chart Mini - Trend Ensuite] Argument dimensions are incompatible
I set it to use Line 1 - same issue.
As far as I can see the Chart Mini - Trend Ensuite and Test Chart Mini - Trend Ensuite are identical in config. One errors (old one), recreate it and it works fine.
Here is the config - I am pretty sure I am missing something obvious - so please excuse me if I missed it.
