LEAP Installation questions

Apologize in advance for my ignorance. I am a medical professional, not a programmer. I upgraded to the newest Indigo release and to Lutron LEAP for my Caseta devices. I have no idea what it means to put something into the command line to make sure the zeroconf package is installed. Where is the command line? Can I just Copy and Paste "pip3 install zeroconf" into it, once I find it. My whole system is down since upgrading. Saved the old versions and now they don't work either. Do I have to remove all the former Caseta devices from my database and have them "rediscovered? I'd appreciate any help you could offer. Thanks.

Current state of the Lutron LEAP plugin

Open Terminal.app, which is in the Applications/Utilities folder. Paste that command in there.

Re: Current state of the Lutron LEAP plugin

Did that. Should I remove all my old Caseta devices? It doesn't ask me about a hub. Is that because it sees it from before?

Re: Current state of the Lutron LEAP plugin

I thought you switched to the LEAP plugin? Why are you still running the RRa2/Caseta (original Lutron) plugin?

Re: Current state of the Lutron LEAP plugin

Disable the old plugin and go through the instructions for the LEAP plugin step by step. You need to create a NEW hub device using the LEAP plugin and pair the plugin device with the actual hub.

And you might as well delete the old devices since you've already messed up the hub device. Do that first, then do the new install instructions.

Re: Current state of the Lutron LEAP plugin

Seemed like I had to uninstall the old Plugin. Downloaded and tried to open the new one and I get this.

Re: Current state of the Lutron LEAP plugin

You had the LEAP plugin in some weird state. Shutdown the server (not just the client), remove the LEAP plugin from both Plugins and Plugins (Disabled), then restart the server and client. Then reinstall the plugin again.

Re: Current state of the Lutron LEAP plugin

FWIW, you should not have had to do anything with the old plugin. Both work independently. I don't know what you did to mess that up. I did all my testing with both plugins enabled, because I have an RRa2 system using the old plugin and was using a Caseta system (then an RRa3 system ) for the new plugin.

How many hubs/bridges/processors do you have?

The Insteon has nothing to do with Lutron.

I saw TWO hubs in your device list. Both for the old plugin. That should not be.

I deleted both before installing Leap.

Re: Current state of the Lutron LEAP plugin

I only have one Smart Bridge Pro. It looked like there were 2 because I was reluctant to delete the one that had worked if I had to go back to the older version.

Re: LEAP Installation questions

I split your posts to a new thread. Please stop posting to the other thread.

What's the current state of your system? Did you create a new bridge device and pair it with your Caseta SmartBridge?

I see two devices in the screen shot you posted. "CasetaHub" and "Lutron Hub". Both for the old plugin. You should not have had two of them.

Re: LEAP Installation questions

I deleted both hubs. I quit Indigo and restarted it. I click to install and enable Lutron LEAP but get this in my log. The plugin does not show up in my list of plugins. I have not created and paired a new bridge, because no Lutron plugin is in Indigo.
