Adding a Lutron Caseta Dimmer to an Insteon 8 button keypad

Greetings

I was able to successfully add my Lutron Caseta dimmers to Indigo using your plug-in. However, when I try to link them to an Insteon 8 button keypad, the devices do not display in the list of available devices. Is there something I need to do in the plug-in to enable this?

Thank you,

Ryan

You can't "link" Insteon devices to non-Insteon devices. Those Insteon links are internal to the Insteon devices.

If you want to control Lutron devices with Insteon keypads, you need to create triggers that fire on the keypad button press, which turns the Lutron device on/off.

Re: Adding a Lutron Caseta Dimmer to an Insteon 8 button key

Thank you for your help. That helped. I do have another question.

Question: I'm unable to change light level or turn off the light once a dim level is selected. Why is the dimmer not responding to a change in dimmer settings or turning off when another button is pushed? Is there a setting I'm missing?

I have created action groups for a Caseta dimmer (all with a 1 second fade)
1) 25%
2) 50%
3) 75%
4) 0%

I've linked each action group to a different key on the keypad
25% = button 3
50% = button 4
75% = button 5
0% = button 6

Scenario

Light turned on to 25% with button 3. When button 4 or 5 are pushed, the lighting level does not change. When button 6 is pushed, it doesn't turn off.

I've also tried creating an off command for each key linked to the 0% Action Group with no luck.

Thanks for your help.

Ryan

I’m going to need to see screen shots of the action group commands and probably a debug level log when you send the commands.

Turn off detailed debugging. Regular debug log setting only.

Get rid of the percent character in your action commands. Numbers only. You can see the error in the log for the commands that have the percent character in them.

That worked. Thank you. I didn't realize that the % wasn't required to be entered by the user when I saw the code adding it on its own after saving.
