Re: Davis WeatherLink Live plugin

I've got at least one bug fixed, am submitting a bad rainfall amount to PWS. Sending rainfall rate instead of 60 min rainfall amount.

That's what you get when you're doing it from someone else's code that's actually pulling data from a different weather station. I cross checked with some other implementations and I think I have the right value now. Still scratching my head over a Python error I got one time. I think I got some bogus data from the weather station. trying to figure out the best way to catch errors like that.

Did you get a WeatherLink Live? Or just the standard Pro 2 console? If you have the WeatherLink, then you just put it's IP address into the plugin. See http://www.indigodomo.com/pluginstore/208/

Re: Davis WeatherLink Live plugin

Looking at adding the Weatherlink Live module.
Does that give me access to all the data the station reports in Indigo?

Yes. You pair the Live module just like a console and it just works.

Re: Davis WeatherLink Live plugin

OK. I got my Vantage Pro 2 and Weatherlink Live installed and operational. The Weatherlink is on ethernet. I'm getting data uploaded and can access it via web and iOS. Installed the plugin but don't see any way to create a new WeatherLink device. In the plugin config I just have choices for event logging. When I go back into the iOS app and click ADD for Weatherlink Live it puts me back in the Bluetooth config mode, then errors out saying the station is already configured. TIA

You have to create a WeatherLink device with the IP address of the unit.

Then you create a device(s) for the sensor suite, and another one (or more) for the internal sensors.

Sorry not getting it. How/where do I create a new Weatherlink Device?

Re: Davis WeatherLink Live plugin

Think I just figured it out. You mean in Indigo create a new device with Weatherlink Live as the type from the drop down list. Correct?

WeatherLink plugin extended to Homekit

I'm using the plugin to feed the data into Homekit (via HomeKit Bridge) so it can be accessed via Siri on HomePod. First test was the station external temp sensor. I used an existing temp sensor type and it worked fine. Since there is an existing sensor type for humidity I'm assuming it will also work.
Issue is I want to be able to access wind speed, wind direction, UV exposure, barometric pressure and trend (rising or falling). Is Masquerade the best or only solution to create the other needed Homekit types? If yes, any docs on how to set up Masquerade? Looked on GitHub and didn't see anything.

That would probably work. Create a Masquerade "Value Sensor Device". Then just select the appropriate items from the popups. Here's one for the Barometric trend.

Long term, you could put in an enhancement request in GitHub to add additional device options to the WeatherLink plugin. I won't be able to get to that until April, probably.

Re: Davis WeatherLink Live plugin

Not seeing some of my data sources in the "Device to Masquerade" drop down like UV and Wind Direction. Also when I go back to my ISS device those devices are missing from the drop down.
Is it possible to add them?
