Concord 4 Alarm System

Usually sold under the Interlogix name, and previously known as the GE Concord 4 system.

https://github.com/FlyingDiver/Indigo-C ... /tag/0.5.2

This is a continuation of Douglas De Couto's plugin: viewtopic.php?f=134&t=10987

Douglas is no longer maintaining this plugin and has approved this transition.

It'll be on the plugin store after pre-release testing.

If you use this Alarm system, please reply to this post. I really wonder how many users there are out there, other than me. ;)

Re: Concord 4 Alarm System

I have one of these alarm systems. Haven't yet connected it to Indigo but expect to do so in the next month or so.

Running Indigo 2023.2 on a 24" iMac M1), OS X 14.4

Re: Concord 4 Alarm System

I’m running a Concord 4, 3 Partitions, 10+ Zones with the Automation module and Alarm.com integration.

Using a serial port to WiFi device with some success and have a Blackbox serial port extender over Ethernet for backup.

Let me know how I can help!

My system is one partition, six contact zones, one motion zone, and three smoke/fire zones. I also have Alarm.com integration using a cellular interface (no land lines). I have a direct serial-USB connection to my Indigo server.

Just submitting bug reports and/or feature requests via the GitHub issues page would be great.

Re: Concord 4 Alarm System

I've installed the pre-release version of the plugin to try out. I wiped my settings, installed the new plugin, and re-created the Zones/Partitions. It feels more responsive and has better log information so already an upgrade.

The old plugin would lose connection to the Automation Card causing the alarm system to protest every 12 hours ( 5 beeps every few minutes). I'd have to get to a keypad and status every partition to silence it.

Re: Concord 4 Alarm System

I plan on using this plugin. I’ll need the GE serial rs-232 module?

Yes. They actually call it the automation module. https://www.homesecuritystore.com/ge-in ... -60-783-02

Re: Concord 4 Alarm System

Thanks for the link. I bought it (after checking around a bit). It’s on its way ups.

This is something Ive wanted to do for awhile. 2 separate alarm systems that dont talk to each other has been interesting but not optimal.

Re: Concord 4 Alarm System

Be aware that the alarm system is very sensitive to ground loops. I ended up needing one of these: https://www.amazon.com/SMAKN®-5-Wires-Rs-232-Optical-Isolator/dp/B00OC8QDGQ

And then I had to take it partially apart because the screws on the connector ends didn't match up with the devices I was using. Probably could have avoided that if I used some additional RS-232 cables instead of trying to connect the isolator directly to the automation module.

Re: Concord 4 Alarm System

I'm using https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ETDC8K/

I have the alarm system, pool interface, and multi-zone amp connected using it. Seems to work fine for everything.

Re: Concord 4 Alarm System

Thanks. All three items are on their way.

In my case I’ll also need to move the mac mini to it’s final location and then get a 15 or 20 foot serial cable. Can do that later. In the current mac location, the cable would need to be 80 feet long.....

Not very 21st century.

Re: Concord 4 Alarm System

Or you could use a Global Cache or similar device for a "remote" serial port.

Re: Concord 4 Alarm System

The mac mini needs to get moved anyway. It's currently been out of the master bedroom for a long bedroom remodel project. So the 20-foot cable will work nicely.
