Better Email Change Mail Password

Had to change the password I was using for my Better Email plugin and now it’s erroring out
and won’t allow me to open the configure to change it.
Tried the device settings menu on the device as well and it won’t open there either.
Seems completely locked up. Is there some way to disable it and be able to make the password change?

Thanks,

Carl

Re: Better Email Change Mail Password

Does the Indigo client lock up totally, or just the plugin? Can you use the Menu command to clear all the queues?

Re: Better Email Change Mail Password

Is "Better Email Setup" the name of your SMTP server device?

The server is very sluggish and I'm not able to open the BE device to edit it.

Here's another error log section.

Re: Better Email Change Mail Password

Are you able to use the "Clear All Email Queues" menu item in the plugins->Better Email menu?

Re: Better Email Change Mail Password

Have you actually restarted the plugin? I think it's stuck because there's an email it's trying to send, and it's can't. Restarting the plugin should clear that email from the queue so it won't get stuck. You need to make sure there's nothing else going on that would try to send an email while you're fixing the password.

Re: Better Email Change Mail Password

I have restarted the plugin a number of times, cleared the email que and restarted the Indigo server.
I was just now able to edit the device settings to change the password but the BE device still shows “failure”.

I checked the other gmail settings and all seems the same. No idea what’s happening.

edit: It’s been so long since I set this up I don’t remember why I have 2 BE devices.
Are two required?

Thanks,

Carl

Re: Better Email Change Mail Password

Can you enable debug level logging? I have no idea why it's getting stuck where it is after a restart.

No, can’t enable debugging. Very locked up again.

Re: Better Email Change Mail Password

Stop the plugin and edit the preferences file by hand. Set the log level to 10. If you're running 7.3, it's at:

/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7.3/Preferences/Plugins/com.flyingdiver.indigoplugin.betteremail.indiPref

If they're both of type SMTP, then no. You only need one SMTP device per sending account. And an IMAP or POP device to receive emails.

I would definitely delete one of them.

Re: Better Email Change Mail Password

I set the the pref file and see this in the log:

Started plugin "Better Email 7.2.4"
Better Email Starting Better Email
Better Email Debug Better Email IMAP: Starting device (imapAccount)
Better Email Debug Better Email IMAP: Creating IMAP Server
Better Email Debug Better Email IMAP: Using IMAP IDLE
Better Email Debug Better Email IMAP: Doing connect using encryptionType = SSL

Also deleted one of the BE devices but nothing has changed.

Thanks,

Carl

Re: Better Email Change Mail Password

That's all? Nothing after that? That doesn't even show the SMTP device starting up.
