Re: Better Email plugin - Official Release

Version 1.1.1 released. Enables use of IMAP IDLE mode for poll-less handling of email messages. Testing with my IMAP provider shows messages are processed within seconds of email reception at the server. Not all IMAP servers support IDLE mode.

Re: Better Email plugin - Official Release

Current version is 1.2.5. Updates since 1.1.1 include support for unicode strings in received (IMAP/POP) message components.

The plugin now uses the GitHub Updater (ghpu) module for semi-automatic installation of new versions.

Re: Better Email plugin - Official Release

Current version is 1.2.10. In this release:

Events are now specific to an email server. All events will need to be edited to select the server.

There are now two kinds of inbound email matching triggers - one for regex expressions, one for plain string matches. All events will need to be edited to select the event type.

Misc bug fixes as well, including a work-around for empty email bodies.

Current version is 1.2.14: https://github.com/FlyingDiver/Indigo-B ... 1.2.14.zip

You will probably need to install this version manually, as this version changes the GitHub repository and plugin in (removes the space in the name).

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Better Email plugin - Official Release

I was having an issue where the default email configuration within Indigo was receiving authentication failures trying to pull from Gmail POP. So I researched the issue, and found that your plugin should provide advanced email function to Indigo, and decided to give it a try. I am unable to find any documentation on what I should do to configure your plugin, and if I select "Configure", it just takes me to a dialogue to set up for update notifications - nothing showing where you configure the plugin to check for email. So I went back to the regular email configuration dialog in Indigo to see if anything was changed there, but nothing different, and I still get authentication errors.

Looking though this thread, it looks like everyone is using your plugin just fine, but without some documentation, I can't see where I go to configure anything - please help.

You have to create a BetterEmail device for each server (POP, IMAP, or SMTP) you want to communicate with. So just go to the New Devices dialog and pick BetterEmail.
