Recommendations for Smart Lock Far from Z-Wave Network

I have been using 3 Yale Assure Z-Wave Locks with the ZWave Lock Manager Plugin for at least 3 years and it has been fantastic.

We have a large metal outbuilding with 2 doors and I have been wanting to replace the old school locks with smart locks.

The problem is I am pretty sure the outbuilding is out of Z-Wave range, but I do have solid WiFi. The locks need to talk to Indigo in some form.

The outbuilding is about 50-75 feet from the nearest Z-Wave device and there are no power outlets in between, not to mention several obstacles.

Just wondering if anyone had experience with either:

1. A WiFi smart lock with and Indigo Plug-in (not sure if there are any that support Yale or another brand).
2. Z-Wave network extenders.

Thanks,

Chris

Haven’t tried it, but one of the reviewers said it helped him connect from his house to his garage 60’ away. https://www.amazon.com/Aeotec-Range-Extender-Z-Wave-Repeater/dp/B07GRYTHBQ

Might be worth a shot. If it doesn’t work, at least your in home Z-Wave network will be super robust.

You may like to investigate using a wifi connected Hubitat hub with the Indigo Hubitat plug in.May not allow with the ZWave lock manager, but it does have native ZWave. I haven’t used it for locks, but works ok to connect remote Zigbee devices to Indigo.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I’m going to try to find a range extender first, since I do have some extra Z Wave locks.

The Hubitat idea is interesting, it might be my plan B
