Re: Airfoil and Indigo 6.0.5

Jay,
No huge rush. Would the corrections happen with an update to Mavericks or are you talking a complete nuke and pave of the drive? I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and update on my end even though the .1 update hasn't dropped yet… I have other incompatibility issues between that and my macbook which have been a pain to work around.

To paraphrase Aliens: nuke the thing from orbit - it's the only way to be sure…

An update may help though, you don't know until you try.

Re: Airfoil and Indigo 6.0.5

Well... post a simple upgrade, I have no bluetooth settings in system settings, so I believe the airfoil issue is something I'll get back to you about. Nothing like your system taking a shit to put things in perspective... should have waiting for 10.9.1....

I may have missed something in that log snippet you posted. But, I didn't see any errors in there. Just looks like debugging output. Do you have debugging turned on?

Re: Airfoil and Indigo 6.0.5

Debugging is turned on. That same snippet just keeps repeating every few seconds. Indigo cannot communicate with airfoil, although it seems to be getting further along in the process than it used to since it actually is seeing the speaker list.

Re: Airfoil and Indigo 6.0.5

Hmmm - that may help somewhat. Lemmie see what I can come up with.

dewster, what you're seeing there is normal behavior when you have debugging turned on. But it does show that there is some communication going on...

keifer1 - is the email address on your forum account a good one? I have a prerelease version of the plugin that might work for you.

Re: Airfoil and Indigo 6.0.5

According to that, it's working…

[EDIT] - sorry, it's getting past the error that both of you were experiencing. However, while it's working for Dewster, it's failing later for you. Not sure what else to try given that airfoil continues to claim via apple events that it's not running.

Re: Airfoil and Indigo 6.0.5

Okay. I started encountering this issue myself after updating from Mac OS X 10.9 to 10.9.1 and I think I found a solution (at least I did for me).

In my case, I had a stray copy of Airfoil 4.8.2b2 hidden in my ~/Library/Application Support/Airfoil folder which was confusing the hell out of the Airfoil plugin (or more specifically, the "appscript" python libraries used by it). Note that I did not put that copy of Airfoil there. I can only guess that the 4.8.2b2 version replicated itself to that location, or the self-update process used to upgrade to the final 4.8.2 version did. Once I removed the entire Airfoil folder form within the ~/Library/Application Support directory (which you can only get to in the Finder by choosing Go -> Go to Folder) and reloaded the Airfoil plugin, all plugin crashing errors, speaker unavailable errors, and application not running errors (I got them all) stopped and everything worked as it used to.

Hope this helps.

Re: Airfoil and Indigo 6.0.5

nsheldon - DING DING DING you are the final winner. After plugin update still had no data passing back and forth, but removing the beta airfoil directories seems to been the final fix!
Thankx Indigo Guys and nsheldon....
