Re: Alexa no longer discovering Indigo installed/managed dev

No need for homepods...overpriced speakers, LOL!

one apple tv
or ipad
iphones and siri and the bridge and you're off.

...did anyone ever actually buy a homepod?

Re: Alexa no longer discovering Indigo installed/managed dev

Well the second gen 2 dot, finally shows that it updated to the 644. Wondering if when it went down this week it had updated but wasn’t showing on the app.
I ordered a gen 1 on eBay, hoping it actually comes in as a gen 1. Hoping to get this back up and working!

Re: Alexa no longer discovering Indigo installed/managed dev

Turns out I have a 1st Gen Dot at my other house and I am going to swap it for my 2nd Gen in an attempt to resurrect voice control.

Does anyone know if there's anything I need to do to get things to start working again?

Is the mere presence of a 1st Gen on the network all that's needed to bring back the voice commands or do I have to perform some sort rediscovery or something?

Thanks.

Re: Alexa no longer discovering Indigo installed/managed dev

I have three Gen2 Echo Dots, running firmware v 644580520, with a 'device not responding' issue.

In the iOS Amazon Alexa app, the devices indicate 'device is unresponsive' or 'device malfunction' if selected. I tried adding a new device in Indigo, and told Alexa to discover devices, but it indicates no new devices found. In the web UI, I instructed Alexa to forget all devices, and then 'discover' (twice, as suggested by another post). It 'found' all devices (except the new one I had never been able to discover), but I still encounter a 'device not responding' issue with all of them. Very disappointing.

Is there any way to downgrade the firmware, and prevent automatic firmware updates until this can get properly resolved?

Thanks.

I don’t believe so. Unfortunately.

Just to confirm, is this the Dot with the volume that rotates at the top or the one with volume up/down buttons?

Re: Alexa no longer discovering Indigo installed/managed dev

Now, maybe, my system has started on the long downward slippery slope. :(

I forgot all my devices (via the Alexa Web interface) and then asked my Echo to do a rediscovery - this worked OK.

However, I now have (as others have reported), two devices listed in the Alexa Web interface for each device that the plugin has published with types:
  • Hue Light
  • Philips Hue Color Light
The Hue Light type device is showing as offline.

The system still works but when I first ask Alexa to Turn On a device, I am advised that the device isn't responding and to check its power supply. If I ask Alexa a second time, Alexa turns on the device. Once Alexa has turned on the device then Turn On, Turn Off and Dim commands work as normal. Sometime later, I may have to ask a second time.

Re: Alexa no longer discovering Indigo installed/managed dev

I am sorry to see this thread. I just installed the plugin for the first time at my my father's house. I created a bridge device and added 3 Indigo devices to it. I put it in discovery mode, went to my father's Echo Show, said "Alexa discover devices". Alexa said "Starting Discovery....", then reported, "I couldn't find any smart home devices." Then I came to this thread to discover why.

Replying only to get on the notification chain so I can see if/when there's a fix for this. :-)
