11.2.5 No Response

I've updated my iPad and iPhone to 11.2.5 and now I'm seeing No Response on all devices.

Can anyone else confirm that HBB works with 11.2.5? I've reloaded HBB with no change. I've restarted Indigo Server, no change. I've restarted the Server machine, no change.

Unsure how to troubleshoot further.

I have 11.2.5 and my devices are responding. I’ve been on the Beta awhile, so my memory isn’t precise, but I believe I had to change the User Name in HBB about the time I started the Beta; that was around the time I received my iPhone X, so I can’t remember the actual cause.

What did you upgrade from? There was a change in 11 that required an updated Node library, but there should be a need to change your username unless they did something to HomeKit - which they may because last weekend I lost all communications and had to remove and readd again, I think there might have been a big change in HomeKit recently.

I do incremental upgrades, so 11.2.whatever was before this.

Now that I think about it, the iPad is on the beta releases, so it's not on 11.2.5. It's on something more.

I upgraded tvOS last night, and no change yet.

I do think it's possibly an IOS change because I haven't lost my entire HB config for probably a year and all of the sudden it was shot this pack weekend, which correlated to updating the IOS on my pad.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't know which username/password you're talking about changing to make HBB start working again.

HBB manages my homebridge. It isn't a separate install.

That would only be needed if you removed your HB server from HomeKit and it wasn't seen anymore. If things are still not working just remove the HBB server from HomeKit and re-add it.

OK, removed and re-added.

I get the whole list of devices scrolling in green in the log, then
Code: Select all
EPS - Homebridge Buddy          EPS - Homebridge Buddy is loaded and ready to use

But I think there's usually a "The home bridge server is now up" notice, or something to that effect, and I haven't seen that.

when I look at the HB log I see
Code: Select all
   EPS - Homebridge Buddy          [2018-1-25 19:36:25] Loaded plugin: homebridge-indigo
[2018-1-25 19:36:25] Registering platform 'homebridge-indigo.Indigo'

[2018-1-25 19:36:25] Registering platform 'homebridge-itunes.iTunes'

[2018-1-25 19:36:25] [Two Dog Hill] Indigo request: http://127.0.0.1:8176/devices.json/

And all indigo devices show as Not responding in the Home app. My Nanoleaf devices do appear active though--they're HK native.

If you removed and then re-added then that is a valid test that it's working all the way through because otherwise you wouldn't see the server - and in order to re-add you also have to re-add each device to the respective rooms. You'll know if HBB is running because it will show as ON in Indigo, plus if it isn't then you'll typically see a quit statement at the end of that HB log. You might have something else happening if you see the devices and then immediately they all go "not responding".

D'oh!

I had a virtual device and an action group called "Listen to Music" and had both of them selected to include. Looks like that was the problem.

I had to "show Homebridge Log" more than once to get the error to show up. But now I get
Code: Select all
 ┌────────────┐
    │ NN-NN-NNN │
    └────────────┘

events.js:182
throw er; // Unhandled 'error' event

Looks like a restart of the box cleared this. BUUUUUT....

Home app still says no Indigo accessories responding.

Wait.

Was I supposed to remove the HB device from Indigo, or the home from the Home app?

EDIT: I think I got it. Home finally saw the bridge, and now I'm re-configuring each device. A pain, but the new HK in iOS makes it easier than it was.

Nope, remove the Homebridge Buddy server from HomeKit, not Indigo and not removing your home from HomeKit.
