M1 Mac Support

We've had several queries about M1 Mac support. This topic will contain a running discussion.

As of December 9th 2020, we have yet to receive our M1 Mac to begin testing. While there have been a few reports of Indigo running fine on M1 Macs (under Rosetta), we have yet to test so at this time we can't say that we "officially" support them. We are hoping to receive our M1 Mac sometime in the next few weeks and we'll continue to post updates here.

Re: M1 Mac Support

We've completed testing of Indigo 7.5 using multiple M1 Macs and did not find any critical issues specific to Indigo. Some 3rd party plugins may have issues, but overall it seems to be working well for our users. Indigo 7.5 is not Apple Silicon native so it will run using macOS's Rosetta 2. Based on our testing, performance – even under Rosetta – with Indigo is outstanding.

Lastly, note we are well into our development and QA efforts to release a new version of Indigo that will run natively on Apple Silicon (M1) Macs.
