Apple Betas are in the air! (WARNING)

Well, the WWDC Keynote is over and there are some great looking changes coming in our favorite Apple platforms.

WARNING

We highly recommend that you restrain yourself and not upgrade to any betas. Indigo will almost certainly not run on macOS 10.15 (we're like 99% sure). Apple has stated that it will not allow 32-bit apps to run on 10.15 (and the IndigoServer is 32-bit), and while they've changed their minds in the past, we don't expect they will this time. So Indigo 7.3 and earlier will not work on 10.15. At all. We will release an Indigo update that has a 64-bit server well before the actual release of macOS Catalina (10.15) this fall. Note that that release will also be the first release where direct AppleScript communication with the server will no longer work ("tell IndigoServer" blocks). Check out the AppleScript Integration Strategies wiki page to help guide you in evaluating your current AppleScripts, and post any scripts that will need conversion to the Help Converting from AppleScript forum to get assistance from our very friendly and helpful user community.

Also, we highly recommend that you not update your iOS device if you rely in it for Indigo Touch operation until we've had a chance to do a thorough round of testing. As we've mentioned in many years previously, there are beta bugs that are almost totally dependable in iOS betas, including authentication. That seems to break in almost every release at some point during beta and it always effects Indigo Touch.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

Thanks to a post from the WeatherSnoop developers, it now seems possible that the Z-Stick Series 2 and the GoControl HUSBZB-1 Z-Wave interfaces, which use the Silicon Labs VCP driver, may not work with the Catalina beta. So, again, be aware of these kinds of issues before upgrading to the Catalina beta.
