Plugin lost connection to controller after controller update

Updated my Cloudkey gen2 to version 2.3.10 and network controller got updated to version 6.5.55. After that, I've been receiving these log updates:

Code: Select all
11 15:11:51 getunifiOSAndPort trying port#:>/usr/bin/curl --insecure  -I -s -o /dev/null -w "%{http_code}" 'https://192.168.14.33:443'< gives ret code:000

11 15:11:51 getunifiOSAndPort trying port#:>/usr/bin/curl --insecure  -I -s -o /dev/null -w "%{http_code}" 'https://192.168.14.33:8443'< gives ret code:404
11 15:11:51 getunifiOSAndPort trying port:8443, wrong ret code from curl test>404< expecting {u'200': {u'os': u'unifi_os', u'unifiApiWebPage': u'/proxy/network/api/s', u'unifiApiLoginPath': u'/api/auth/login'}, u'302': {u'os': u'std', u'unifiApiWebPage': u'/api/s', u'unifiApiLoginPath': u'/api/login'}}
11 15:11:52 getunifiOSAndPort existing  os>< .. ip#>192.168.14.33< .. trying ports>[u'443', u'8443']<

All Functionality seems broken. Any ideas whats causing this?

Re: Plugin lost connection to controller after controller up

I am still on 2.2.12

it seems that the controller has changed its behavior with 2.3.x

will upgrade later and check

In the meantime:
You can either downgrade or disable the controller functions in config - set in Controller info first field controller type to "off"
then the error messages should disappear. all direct AP and switch functions should still work = new devices, wifi devices join leave etc..
missing will be reports, additional info etc

Yeah, seems like major version upgrade.

I’ll try that ”off” setting tonight.

Thanks for the tip!

I'm also encountering the same issue with my UDM-Pro, which is on release candidate version 6.5.55.

Forgot to report this - I tried to set controller type to ”off” but f. ex. blocking client didnt work.

Any ideas what to check?

Re: Plugin lost connection to controller after controller up

I have a version ready that works now with the new controller software.

It seems that using curl instead of python request has its limits.

Older MAC os (~ 5 years) w/o python requests ssl v > 1.(the heart bleed problem version) modules will not be supported anymore with the new UNIFI controller OS (6.5.55)
I was using curl as an alternative for older MAC-OS, but that has finally come to an end .

If you have MAC OS 11+ you should be fine with the new version

I will upload the new version in the next days, after some testing and cleaning up the config screens

Karl, tried the new version but still cannot F.ex block client with plugin which worked earlier.

Was there anything else to set in config besides the port number?

Also getting these lately. I added two APs that I had installed but forgot to setup in plugin Image

Re: Plugin lost connection to controller after controller up

I checked mine and it works, I believe something else is wrong with your AP devices.

i have posted v ..373 that should shine some light on it.

it seems that "you" have a device wrongly classified and then it tries to create the device although it already exists.

Ok, I’ll have to dig a little deeper and see if I can figure it out.

Or could I simply delete AP devices and plugin will create those devices again?

Re: Plugin lost connection to controller after controller up

yes it does,
but you need to restart the plugin. and please delete the "Device-AP" as well as the "UNIFI" device
