USW Flex Mini

Hi Karl,

Not an issue but I just bought one of these to replace an US8 that had an intermittment hardware fault. It seems they do not support SSH so you get the following error

Code: Select all
uniFiAP Error                   testServerIf ssh connection to server failed, cmd: /usr/bin/expect '/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7.5/Plugins/uniFiAP.indigoPlugin/Contents/Server Plugin/test.exp' 'user' 'password' 192.168.1.192
uniFiAP Error                   in Line 7685 has error=u'192.168.1.192'

It looks like they have limited functionality compared to the fully fledged devices but small and neat for the location I needed. Not sure if they do support anything that could be useful for your plugin, mainly reporting so other people are aware.

Thanks,
Neil

Re: USW Flex Mini

Try:
Open terminal
ssh yourunixuserid&ipofcamera
Enter Unix password
If that works something else is wrong

I have almost all types of UniFi cameras
The $27 instant. The $80 flex, the 3g dome, the 3g bullet and the 4g bullet w zoom.

They all work fine.

Re: USW Flex Mini

The controller communicates with all devices through ssh and other means. It should work.

And the error message indicates something wrong w the Ip number not in the tables (dict) within the plugin.

So could you check if you can do ssh

There are switches w 4 5 6 7 8 10 11 14 16 26 52 ... ports defined in the plugin.

[EDIT]
>>> in Line 7685 has error=u'192.168.1.192'
is a format error, the prompt for that device is not set up yet.
that in turn means the connect did not work = could not log in
the prompt is found in testServerIfOK

also could you check the file /Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7.5/Logs/com.karlwachs.uniFiAP/plugin.log
for more info?

Karl.

FWIW, this was in the Mini documentation (this is the footnote on multiple items which is why their list of not supported are not all related techs):

* USW-Flex-Mini uses port-based VLANs only and does
not support SSH, STP (forwarding only), 802.1X, DNS
suffix, or experience in the controller.

Re: USW Flex Mini

Then I guess you need to remove that switch from config.
Thinking about how to get it Into the plugin. Nice challenge

Re: USW Flex Mini

Karl,
No panic or expectations for me, it was just to let you and others know who may expect the difference. I don’t need any Functionality for that one. I do know you like a challenge though!
