Making the plugin stop reporting new devices

Hi Karl,

Apologies upfront if this has been asked/answered elsewhere, but I'm looking for a way to use the plugin to control a limited number of devices (cq MAC addresses), and don't want the plugin to make a new device for every new WIFI client it finds. Is there a way to do that?

Thanks!

Best regards,

Mark

Not sure if this is what you mean, but if its the wifi neighbors, then go into plugin config and select Ignore NEW neighbor router devices, its towards the top of the options

Not really, what I'd like is that the UNIFI_created, UNIFI_neighbors and UNIFI_system directories will not get any new entries. Not just router devices, but also clients such as iphones.

Best regards,

Mark

UNIFI_neighbors is definitely controlled by that tick box (I used to have 1500+ of them! I've now ticked ignore and that folder stays empty.

As for limiting the others, not sure sorry. You could just disable the comms for them using indigo, I think that that would stop them showing up in lists etc?

Re: Making the plugin stop reporting new devices

I have added an option to ignore any new "client" devices = phones etc, to be released with next version

Already there: ignore new neighbors
not covered: ignore new unifi sw, ap, gw .. devices

Here is what I am doing:

for client devices: phones etc:
if I want to keep the device I move them info a folder unifi clients and rename them to a meaningful name = bills iphone etc
and leave the others in UNIFI_created as they are

For neighbors I keep it off most of the time (ignore neighbors = true) only once in a while I open it up to see if there are new "real" neighbors.
Also drive by cars with hotspots create new neighbors. If you keep new neighbors on you will see the number of those devices growing and expiring, After a months I had several hundred.
- Thats when I added the ignore Neighbors option.

Currently working on rewriting the UDM unifi device part to also be able to manage UDM (non pro). It behaves a little different than the UDM-pro
Thanks go to Gareth -evansgo - for his patience in debugging the message and http formats

When that is done (a few days) , the ignore new "clients" option will also be available

Awesome Karl! :D

And indeed, those cars driving by all day are a never-ending source of new neighbors!!

Thanks,

Mark

... the days are getting shorter.

The option to ignore devices should be working in V 7.30.189
