Unifi Setup Help

If this exists somewhere else please point me to the correct thread. I am new to this, and I have finally got my Unifi System installed and I have everything working according to the event log. I am still struggling to figure out how I monitor the mac addresses of the devices on my wifi. Any help?

Re: Unifi Setup Help

I assume you have installed the plugin and some devices have been created?

you should see some "system" devices and some unified client devices

When they are onlinethey should show status "up" / dev.onState =ON

when they are not in the network ie no activity the should go to down and after another time go to expired. (set some parameters timers etc in device edit)

you can set triggers on the device states (ie status) and then do an action = send email ...

hope that is what you were asking for

Karl

Re: Unifi Setup Help

Karl, thanks for the quick response. I have not seen any devices created. It is possible that I have not set something up properly and its just not complaining about it. what do you recommend as my next steps to getting this working?

Re: Unifi Setup Help

I'm also not seeing devices being created, having just installed the plugin for the first time.

I'm seeing this error in the logs: have I missed something in the config?

ixBeforeRunConcurrentThread in Line '4464' has error=''Plugin' object has no attribute 'broadcastIP''

my device is s UniFi switch8

hmm - In case its a clue, I'm finding settings repeatedly disappearing from the config - or is this normal. for instance ssh name and pass going back to blank; the controller ip going back to 192.168.1.x and user/pass blanking. I wasn't sure if perhaps this was a security feature....

meantime I will message you the config.

cheers
Adam.

yes, I do.
sorry I'm almost finished rebuilding the configuration.
what I'm finding is that everything appears to work ok (at least not spawning error messages) until I try to add the switch. (its also not apparent whether it has successfully connected to the controller however...] then that message is generated, and the plugin repeatedly restarts. obviously I'm doing something seriously wrong!!

Re: Unifi Setup Help

thanks for your help: now properly connecting in and auto generating devices (albeit so far not all the devices the controller knows about....!).
so a bit of work to do but looks very exciting!

edit: all devices there and making sense:)

Re: Unifi Setup Help

just for everyone:

the site name in the plugin config (default = "default") is NOT the site name you enter in "SITE CONFIGURATION" on the unifi controller,

but the name in https://192.168.x.x:8443/manage/site/>>>default<<</settings/site

I have not found a way to actually change the HTTP site name on the unifi controller.
It is the ID used in storing all the data in the controller folder system..
