Feature Request: Filter out fake MAC addresses

Great plugin.

Here's a request to add to the request board:

It's a know issue with Unifi detecting fake MAC addresses -- not sure why but their forums have multiple posts on this.

For example: https://community.ubnt.com/t5/UniFi-Rou ... -p/1840556

My Unifi controller shows 1800+ that all have the MAC address of:

xx:xx:40:00:40:06.

These are probably all rogue packets from my Hikvision NVR. Unifi detects them as MAC addresses, puts them in "known history" and they these get created in the "UNIFI_created" folder with the plugin.

Request: Allow to add a black list filter. Something that says "always ignore MAC addresses with this pattern" or something. This is really a Hikvision/Unifi bug/feature; just wondering if we can correct for it in the plugin. I just deleted 160 rough devices in Indigo (I recently got the plugin installed and running; the Unifi numbers have been there longer.

Thanks

Re: Feature Request: Filter out fake MAC addresses

I can block devices with a certain MAC pattern in the plugin, -- after thanksgiving.. - but not on unifi directly

something like
"Ignore any mac that starts with === 12:34
as text input field in config. Then all devices with MACs start with 12:34 will be ignored..

Re: Feature Request: Filter out fake MAC addresses

That would be great.

In my use case, it is the last 4 octets of the “MAC” (as detected by UniFi). The first two octets change all the time.

So the last are constant and the first vary?

So something like:
12:xx:45:xx:89:aa
Ignore any mac with fixed 12 45 89 aa and any xx ?

Re: Feature Request: Filter out fake MAC addresses

see latest release ..149.

can use a wildcard in any of the six hex numbers to ignore a group of mac numbers, does not have to be at the start or the end, but whole hex pairs only, so
no 12:x3:45:67:89:ab
only 12:xx:45:67:89:ab

This is great. Thanks Karl. I was traveling but have now enabled this. Thanks for the quick turnaround.
