which one ::: virtual box + ubuntu + NVR or plugi n?

This is how the indigo screen looks like:

for start of event and after event.
shown are the date stamps and the length of the event

The key used is the unifi video device number = Camera number

Once an event occurs the Camera device is created. with name: "Camera_+"unifi camera name. you can change that if you like.

before you need to enable VIDEO event capture in config and enter userid/password of the UNIX box where the unifi NVR runs.

This is v 0.1. Anyone interested in Testing?
You need either original NVR box, NVY running on a (virtual) unix box. Windows does not work.

got it to work completely:

macpro /OSX hosts virtualbox, which hosts ubuntu, which hosts UNIFI VIDEO system; the video files are stored directly in mac pro folders .. not in the virtual box ..

unifi video system records events, then triggers events in indigo
videos are available in the unifi app and you can get the files also directly from the MAC.. but not clear names something like

And it actually runs .. the virtual box has a fixed HD of ~ 20 GB ( > 10 needed) all video files are on the MAC directly .
Once a night the virtual disk gets copied ( setting etc) and the video files individually are also backed up directly on the Mac Pro.

the mac pro 2008 3.1 with indigo7 + 4 unifi cameras high def (will add 2 more) and many plugins runs at ~ 20% load
the whole unifi stuff is ~< 8% ( ~ 30% of 1 cpu) load

I’m using 6 UniFi cams, on two sites. with SecuritySpy, in AU.
Some are under eaves, others not.

They are a great improvement on my earlier Foscams.

Although I do like SecuritySpy (and it allows a mix of camera brands and video intercoms to operate as peers from an indigo perspective ); the unifi video server is intriguing. (Albeit not with direct macOS support).
