Re: uniFi WiFi AP: download

posted v 7-4-39

added:
.-- minor reduction in writes to indigo (for the state image )
-- now supports Fast Roaming option: https://help.ubnt.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004662107-UniFi-Fast-Roaming
recognized besides "Zero-HandoffRoaming"
When devices switch between access points the plugin recognizes it for both options

Zero Handoff started to deteriorate in my environment. After I switched to FastRoaming the performance (throughput) is much better. The switching time is almost not noticeable. I can walk through the house with wifi calling and switch from one AP to the next without loosing the connection. Even as they are on different Wifi bands. You might hear a little "scratching" noise for ~ 0.5 secs.

minor fix:
if device "notes/ description" needed update the plugin had a debug statement left over from development. It was always printing device name and new device notes.
Now it only does that if debug level is set to "dict details"

posted v 7-5-44

added:
option in config to enable/ disable update of the notes/ description field.
If enabled (default): the notes field get updated with changes in the device info from unifi AP/ switch/ GW..
If NO: it only gets set at creation time. Then you can set it to anything you like.

The default will make sure it has a sortable IP number at the beginning.

Re: uniFi WiFi AP: download

posted v 7.5.46

fixed:
new devices were not created all the time if they only are visible to the unit-switch.
i.e. devices that do not request an IP# from the DHCP server or that do not connect to the outside world i.e. do not go through the gateway / router

This only affects a setup that has a unifi switch .

Re: uniFi WiFi AP: download

posted V 7.6.50

added:
- now supports up to 5 unifi switches(#0-#4) and will show which "client" is connected at with port for each switch.
Even if not directly connected somehow each client belongs to a port of all the switches = path to that client goes through that port...
- improved the algorithm if you have > 1 Apps or switches to determine if a client device is up/down
- when starting it will check if the internet works. If not it will not check the vendor name for devices through a web call - e.g. MAC = 00:04:a3:ad:a5:cb is a "MICROCHIP TECHNOLOGY INC." device . it would take 10 seconds per devices to timeout. .. that could be a long time for 100 devices
- device states "inListXXX" now show if the unifi device has the client in its internal database. It shows e.g.
--- U>2017-10-01 22:17:44 = last up at 2017 ... or
--- D>2017-10-01 22:14:25 = down device , the last time stamp the client was in that unifi device database
- added state: "lastStatusChangeReason". can be e.g.
--- Period Check DHCP expired
--- DICT SWITCH_0 up
---DICT WiFi 192.168.1.4 up else
--- Period Check Wifi expired
--- etc
useful to see WHY a device went up / down
- added new fields:
---- model: now shows the better formatted info on the model of the unifi devices
---- overheated: show 0/1 if the device has the over heat flag ON/off

Karl

unifi devices = unifi switches, gateway, wifi AP
client = the devices connected to your network = MAC, raspberry cameras ...

fixed
uniFiAP in Line '2858' has error='addToStatesUpdateList() got an unexpected keyword argument 'reason''

only happens under specific circumstance. One of those bugs you need to wait for to happen

thanks to Wouter for pointing it out

changed:
all variable / device/folder names are now using _ instead of - characters.

This for stable performance as indigo does not support fully a - in names .

Re: uniFi WiFi AP: download

Thanks again for a critical piece of my HA setup. It's virtually problem free and does more than I ask of it. Five stars!

SmartThings refugee, so happy to be on Indigo. 10.13.6 on an i5 MBP w/Harmony Hub, Hue, DomoPad, Dynamic URL, Device Extensions, HomeKit Bridge, MatplotLib, Plex, uniFAP, Wunderground, Nanoleaf, LED Simple Effects, Airfoil Pro, Grafana.

the 8 port switch only showed 7 pots in indigo states. now 8

uniFi WiFi AP: download

posted v 7-8-58

added: Menu / action to power cycle individual ports on unifi switches.
In the menu option (similar in actions) choose Power cycle .. and fill out:
Screen Shot 2017-10-23 at 11.00.16.png
Screen Shot 2017-10-23 at 11.00.16.png (24.43 KiB) Viewed 4606 times

click execute.. it takes ~ 1 second to finish

remember the ports number from1....xx not 0...xx

happy recycling

App: powercyle RPI connected to POE to unifi switches, or powercyle the unifiAP's or cameras ...

Karl

it does the following:
Code: Select all
ssh userid@x.x.x.x
.. enter password ...
telnet localhost 23
enable
configure
interface 0/PPPP
poe opmode shutdown
poe opmode auto
exit
exit
exit

where x.x.x.x is the IP number of the switch ; PPPP is the port number you want to cycle and userid is the userid of your unifi system (same for everything)

Re: uniFi WiFi AP: download

new version V-7-9-63 posted:

added, better:
= significantly improved algorithms for Up/down determination

= reduced writes to indigo by ~ factor 20, if you have a lot of Unifi Devices e.g.: with 8 switches, 3 AP, one UGA ,80 IP devices from 30 updates/second to one every 3 secs.
this requires that some of the timers etc have to be non indigo/device/states or properties .. that took most of the time.

= added POE information of switch ports:
poe1 = on, poe0 = off, poeP = pass through

= switch:port info:
---which port is the Client connected to
--- link info: for >= 2 switches you will see with port is connected to which switch:port
#C: 10;DwL:5,P:1;FD-1000; err:264; rx-tx[kb/s]:1-1 =
-- 10 clients connected
-- this is a down link to switch#5
-- connection is FD 1000Mbit
-- # of error packages = 264
-- rx-tx rate: 1kbit
#C: 01;poe1;FD-100; err:0; rx-tx[kb/s]:9-199
-- similar with poe on and client active

== 2 separate options to check UP-> down with a ping and/OR down-->up

== added several reports

== set global parameters for all devices for up/down

== show stats of updates ...

== track all messages info for a specific device (select a MAC#) then all messages and DICT info for THAT device will be shown in the log file. this is good to understand why e.g. status goes up/down, and how to tune your etc .. parameters

When you install the new version you will see a lot of indigo messages that states where removed and added.

I have tested this one for some time, but there will likely be some bugs..
