Re: Room-O-Matic

Great control pages, some of the best i;ve seen, if not the best.

I've wanted to build a physical control console  , for some time using real domed panel light bulbs, toggle switches, push buttons and flashing lights for the home office - a nice wall mounted retro panel or better still a control desk!

Keep up the good work!!!

If you do that you must: post pictures, include a rotary phone, and grow a mustache.

Re: Room-O-Matic

LOL, I had lots of things I played with, and a rotary dial was one of them. I went with a push button phone style instead for my security system page but I was working hard to keep it retro (notice the tube video monitor for cameras?). Since making this I have made a couple others but always come back to this one because I really like how it works and looks.

Yep, I loved the old "tube" tv effect, that really drew me in.

Whilst the physical control panel may be limiting in changing or expanding things, I think its an interesting proposal. It's really turning home automation on its head!

I think I'm inspired by something like this!

Re: Room-O-Matic

Defiantly growing a mustache and I could use the rotary phone to take calls from the household requiring appliances to be switched on
