Homebridge Issues after installing Indigo 7.1 - Solved

I had a homebridge installation running pretty smoothly for a few months. Today, when I updated Indigo to 7.1 all devices disappeared. I thought that a reboot and an unload/reload of homebridge would fix it but it didn't. After looking at the log and tinkering here and there, I decided to upgrade homebridge and homebridge-indigo to the latest versions through npm (sudo npm update -g homebridge). Everything is working fine now so I am posting this in case any one else faces the same issues.
