beacon_parameter too big

Hi Karl,

I have a problem with the plugin, which is basically dead now; the beacon_parameter is toooo big (read in event log); if I delete manually the undesired beacons, at reboot the file is created automatically again; if I try with the standard way "menu --> ignore beacons" I get timeout because I think the list is too big; in the meantime I disable the accept new beacons in log.

Thanks
Marco

And, with latest plugin version I have this error too:

Code: Select all
2020-05-20 09:49:46.601   ERROR          Plugin.startTcpipListening       Line 17491 has error=local variable 'TCPserverHandle' referenced before assignment
2020-05-20 09:49:46.601   ERROR          Plugin.startTcpipListening       tcpip stack did not load, restarting.. if this error continues, try restarting indigo server

Re: beacon_parameter too big

The tcpip error occurs sometimes when the plugin can not start the stack.
Disable the plugin , wait 10 secs, restart the plugin

As for the ignored beacon list
You can use the menu to delete ignored beacons

Re: beacon_parameter too big

what exactly have you done:
- menu item,
- which button
?

The "delete beacons history of deleted devices" performs a very simple action: set dict to {} and write empty dict to file.
That should not run into a timeout.

Re: beacon_parameter too big

ok
please check directory:
/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7.4/Preferences/Plugins/com.karlwachs.piBeacon/
how big is the file: beacons

/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7.4/Preferences/Plugins/com.karlwachs.piBeacon/rejected
how big are the files?
the biggest file is likely: rejects that contains the history of all rejects that can be long - mine is 12.9 Mbytes (reject-1 is teh backup copy)
reject.0 ...x are the files from the RPIs
these you can simply delete,, they used only for stats

The file that is used the the menu is rejectedByPi.json
you can delete that one (stop plugin, then delete, then restart plugin). That will erase list of deleted files

here my directory:
