2. could you post the log /Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7.2/Logs/com.karlwachs.piBeacon/plugin.log
from the point where the plugin starts. I need to see the >>>>FIRST<<<< error message.

im only using the plugin with beacons nothing else like senors etc.

2. delete file /Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7.2/Logs/com.karlwachs.piBeacon/plugin.log
3. start pibeacon
4. send
A) file /Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7.2/Logs/com.karlwachs.piBeacon/plugin.log
B) standard logfile;
should start with

piBeacon initializing ...

all the repeating errors do not tell me anything .. need the very FIRST error message

It looks as if an indigo iBeacon device was deleted while the plugin was not running.
Then at startup it tries to read that indigo device... and crashes, everything else is the result of that

it the loads take some seconds and indigos kinda freeze and then all good.

but I get som other strange things I tried to save after disable the "find new beacons"
but then it says like pictures.

and there is no "red" fields.

Anything in the logfile?

ok where is the logs placed can not find them in your log folder and not in the running log either ?

also I have xy find it version 3 they have started not to update the status just stay up all the time. (also the buttons)

I've had this exact problem all weekend. Trying to delete them to start again without RTFM.
Got it all sorted in end by deleting config folder and restarting the server

Yes delete the prefs folder makes it start from almost scratch and it should recover most info automatically.

But never the less what happened before ?

Hi Karl. I had deactivated the plugin that was setup before and deleted the pi devices. When I've tried to activate it and create the pi devices it was either not finding them, or would but would then not control them or would refuse to properly remove them when I tried to delete the pi from within the config screen.
Eventually deleting the folder, and rebooting the Mac worked.

However weird things today. 2 X RPI and 2x beacons set up, named and moved into new folder.
Yesterday one of the Pis moved automatically back to the pibeacon_new folder and was renamed to it's Mac address. Today the other pi has done the same and one of the beacons has completed disappeared.

Any ideas what has happened?

these are ALL places where an indigo device gets deleted in the plugin.

my experience from the host is APPLESCRIPT. when indigo times out it does not return device info . It looks similar to does not exist. )(yes, one could parse the error timeout, does not exist, other errors..)
There are several hundred places when the plugin reads indigo and adding complicated IF's to catch these is a real bear.
Once the plugin thinks a device is gone. it ignores it and eventually treats that device as unwanted and deletes it.

I know this can be a problem, But I have not come up with an easy fix for that = a function that does all the checking and can be called in one simple statement..
