If we use Ethernet wire and external USB Bluetooth adapter, is this OK?

Have not done detailed testing:
Only Ethernet + internal BLE
And serial bleconnect seems to work. But have not done any timing etc.

tested BLEconnect with 3 devices in parallel
with ethernet no extra BLE dongle
with ethernet and extra BLE dongle
with wifi and extra BLE dongle
with wifi no extra BLE dongle
all work fine -- no problems connecting ... ping over wifi :
- 5 GHz ~ 1.4 msec and 0 packet loss with and w/o extra BLE dongle
- 2.4Ghz ~1.5 msec and 0 packet loss with and w/o extra BLE dongle
looks like the same for 2 a,d 5 ghz
It looks very good now

Excellent - I wonder if the onboard WiFi driver now supports promisquous mode as that was something missing from the 3B?

Hi Karl,
One way would be to install the nmcli command line utility
- Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install network-manager
With this, you can scan for any wireless devices in the area (with signal strength) without them necessarily being on your WiFi network - a bit like what Fingbox does.
Edit: Actually, I lie, it's Kismet that does this -
https://gary-dalton.github.io/Raspberry ... ismet.htmlTypical command:
- Code: Select all
nmcli d wifi
Here's a guide, (you will need step 4) but there may be better ones:
