Re: piBeacon: presence monitoring plugin discussions

Glenn,

just published version7.123.423 that show show INPUT in status instead of INPUT_X.
Also device edit save needed some fixing.

==> you need to edit and save the devices

Re: piBeacon: presence monitoring plugin discussions

Thanks Karl
Installed - edit/save - status updating correctly..
:D :D D

1.
Thanks for the POE tip - great ideal as have a number of POE-micro-usb converters and plenty of Cat Cable.
Will get on and do now, despite the rain

2.
Mainly use the ADS1x15 sensors via
https://store.ncd.io/product/ads1115-16 ... ni-module/
Image
More expensive, but plug and play with sensors from ali-express like this

Image
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3274949 ... 4c4d6XjVjX

Dropped to bottom of tank, calibrate reading and get live tank level updates to resolution of about 0.2 cm
So far the main water tank one has been running well for a few years, added another one recently to a 2nd tank.
(well actually to septic, tank to check level and alarm if over level...._

Thanks again

Re: piBeacon: presence monitoring plugin discussions

just in case you missed that.. with the demise of wireless RFXcom pool temperature devices, here the first real alternative I found:

iBS03TP is a water tight temp sensor that has also an external temp sensor,
You could either place it outside the pool and let the probe hang into the pool, or put the device onto a pice of wood or anything that swims and let the external sensor hanging into the water.

It is a bluetooth sensor. It broadcasts updates every 30 secs. Similar to the ruuvitag sensor.

Fully supported by piBeacon. Temperature = temp in the sensor, ambient -= temp in the probe, battery level is calculated from the battery Voltage (0=2900mV, 100=3150mV+)

You can get it from https://www.beaconzone.co.uk/sensor/iBS03TP or from alibaba : https://ingics.en.alibaba.com/product/62019116313-803130129/Waterproof_BLE_sensor_beacon_with_external_temperature_probe.html

The battery should last for several month (web sites claim 2.5Y) it is a larger CR2450

And some picture how to do a floating pool temperature sensor with the iBS03TP w 2 Styrofoam plates glued together. The top part has the sensor cut out, the probe cable runs through the bottom part. As it is 2 meter long it is curled up so the at the señor is ~ 20cm under water..

And you should dip the metal end of the probe into "liquid tape" to make it not touch the chlorinated water directly
And the device as a whole is IP67: "it has been tested to work for at least 30 minutes while under 15cm to 1m of water. "
Karl
ps and you can set the sensor indicator to green/grey/red depending on temperature. set it in device edit( and when ever indigo offers more colors like blue for cold it will be added too)

Hi Karl

That actually looks really handie - always keen to find backup for pool temp monitoring. I have a deck surrounding one side of pool, including where leaf bucket is - so really easy to hide under deck and drop lead in.

Current using a rpi and a tmp102 sensor - I wired it, and then encased the whole sensor thing in epoxy resin. The clear stuff, part a, part B. That sits in leaf bucket running to rpi. So far now I think 2 years later still going strong. Tempted to upgrade to mcp9808 sensor (I think that is the right one) to get slightly better resolution..

Prior had a number of Pre-bought ‘waterproof’ sensors - they all failed after 6 months or so. Waterproof and constantly submerged in salt/chlorine probably quite different. But the epoxy sensor - so far so good!

Now to see if can find your one on AliExpress.... should be there if on alibaba...

Second, I'm trying to reset the CO2 sensor, it's hanging in "HIGH".
I've tried to do one of the "manage sensor devices", but it's still on "HIGH".
How can I bring to back to "LOW"?

Thanks!

Re: piBeacon: presence monitoring plugin discussions

1. it should be piU, will post a fix later today

2. GPIO high .. I just tried mine, that works, could you post the device edit screen.. remember you need to first set each section, then confirm ... before you go to the next

Thanks Karl,

See screenshot of the "edit settings" of the sensor.
I have to say, that the sensor worked, one day with an update (can't remember when), the device was set to HIGH (the CO2 level wasn't critical) and since then it is staying on HIGH.
Can't reset it.

Nothing happens. Clicked on "Confirm"

The state is also old. Since then it stays on HIGH.
