Watch OS 5

The Apple Watch edition of Home Remote does not appear to work on watchOS5 (at least on a Series 1). Not sure if this app is still being supported; the dev hasn't been around here since December and the support wiki page has some random American football stuff on it.

"The developer of this app needs to update it to work with watchOS5."

Recommend not updating to watchOS5 if this is important to you.

That’s a shame.. it was a promising app! I don’t think it took off quite as the developer hoped.

I use it just about every day. It's a great way to access shortcuts on my phone and (until this morning) my watch.

I use it a bit on my phone, but never tried it on my watch.

Have you tried tweeting him; he always said he was active on Twitter if we needed him.

I had originally used this app for use on my iDevices but with the advent of HomeKit Bridge and the Home app on my phone I never use it any more.

Let me think about that one. Why don't you hold your breath until you hear from me. :D

Sounds like a plan!

Actually my mum has been lovely and bought me a new S4 to help with my efforts to get fitter and healthier, so hopefully that’ll arrive in a few weeks!

Anyone wanna buy a nice series 0?

Nice! Mention to mum that you made a friend jealous because those watches are really nice and that he needs the continuous heart rate tracking for workouts because his old smart watch doesn't do continuous. She can have it shipped directly here if she wants. :-)

Says the man who uses android. No shiny watches for you. Only sane people are allowed them!

Unlike many of you, I have no real animosity towards any brand -- I can appreciate great hardware or devices and yet also have my preferences. The Apple Watch, in particular, is generally above the Android ones -- though the Wear OS devices are sometimes perhaps more stylish, Apple is kicking their butt on the OS side of things. And then, some of the Wear OS watches are downright hideous too. At any rate, I have never said I dislike Apple Watch or even the iPhone. Awesome hardware and I am often jealous of it!

I tell you what, since it is helping your fitness, come on over and we will have a Judo match over it... winner gets the watch! :-)

I kind of picture him more trying to see how many of those nasty-looking orange beverages he can drink. While yelling taunts at the guys tossing the cabers.
