Cool.

Can you invite me to Beta?

I'll pm my email - I'm already a test flight user.

Re: Feature Requests for iOS App

So far feedback about the beta Indigo support has been good.

There have been some issues with malformed JSON from Indigo's side but I have put a hack in place to handle that and emailed Jay and Matt about it.

There have also been issues with people who implement the SSL protocol using a reverse proxy and then edit their IndigoWebServer.conf but I think I have fixed that now.

New beta is going out now, then I will work on some other, non Indigo, new features and look to submit by the middle of next week.

Re: Feature Requests for iOS App

I would like to make a feature request to second Matt & Jay's navigational UI changes. While I figured it out, it took me a bit.

Another non trivial one would be the ability to read in device and variable states so we could get status on the widget screen.

Re: Feature Requests for iOS App

Love the new support for Indigo and status, is there a way to keep the status on? for example, when I look at my watch I can't tell if the light is on or off as the green status (or red) goes off after a couple of seconds.

Thanks

Colin

Re: Feature Requests for iOS App

Hey Col. I did try and do that first , but what with syncing over iCloud along with Home Remote: Remote functionality and multiple ways of controlling the kit it was too difficult to keep everything reliably in sync.

The watch app and the Today Screen widget start fresh every time you open them so the data would need to be fetched from the server when they start, if you had 15 devices on your screen that would be a lot on URL calls which would impact battery life and performance, especially if you just wanted to toggle 1 item and then close the widget.

The way I have now was the best compromise.

Fair enough, still a great app and too cheap in my opinion :D

Re: Feature Requests for iOS App

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. As for price, iOS is a terrible market place. I raised the price of my app by 50 pence to the next tier and sold only 1 copy a day for a few days (normally sits between 14-18) so I dropped the price and it came back up. Mobile users just don't pay. I appreciate there are exceptions, but a few good people don't cover it. The app itself was initially built just for my use - it was much more limited at version 1.0 so it's never been made to pay the bills, I just do it as it's something I enjoy and I can justify to the wife automating the house :)

Re: Feature Requests for iOS App

Hi Gary - I really like what you've done with the app. I've only scratched the surface in trying out the new features.

One thing that would be great in my opinion, is to implement the 'swipe right to go back' feature of iOS. I realize the back button is there (and clearly labelled), yet I still find myself trying to swipe...

Cheers,
Dave

p.s. if there were an in-app purchase to buy you a pint, I would be happy to oblige. :)

I came here to drink milk and kick ass....and I've just finished my milk.

Thanks Dave,

That feature is now added and will be in the next beta/release.

If so, share with me how you did it, we could use lots of pints here...
