Okay, just got back to lunch and tested again.

The Nest reported 79, but the device in Indigo reported 77, so I clicked "Send Status Request" and my Trigger worked immediately.

I'll let it run, cool down and see if the Trigger to turn it off when it hits below 75 works. Then let it warm back up to 79 and see if it comes back on or if my sending the status request had something to do with it.

What do you have for the update time in the Nest plugin preferences?

Time between updates is set to 60 seconds.

Sounds like the plugin is just not working right. I took a quick look at it, and the code is way to involved for a casual assessment. Way more so than the Ecobee code I took over. I think because it's doing both the thermostats and the smoke alarms.

As a side note: whenever I want write Temperature based triggers, I use “Has any change” as the trigger and then use conditions, or a Python, to determine what needs to be done.
