READ if fing sucks for you!

Parallels created some network bridging for the VM my Mac was hosting.... The commands fing uses throws an error before any scanning gets started because it doesn't know which network interface to use.

To complicate matters further, when I'd delete fingscan, I would never clear the tables from the SQL logger, so everything would re-populate even after I deleted absolutely everything associated with fing.

Just venting / hoping someone will read a the lightbulb click, as fing and fingscan are F...ing awesome, thanks Karl

Re: READ if fing sucks for you!

How would I "clear the tables from the SQL logger"? Ive run into this same problem and have completely deleted and reinstalled FING with no luck. The plugin crashes, phantom networks appear in the FING app, etc.

Thanks in advance

Re: READ if fing sucks for you!

tables get " deleted"
A) from SQLite: only if
1. delete devices or variables in indigo
2. shutdown indigo
3. run vacuum in sqlite
if not vacuumed the space of tables are still present, but not used

B) from postgres: if
1. delete devices or variables
2. run vacuum or cluster on the postgres DB
if not vacuumed I believe the empty space will be used over time by postgres

C) could you be more specific on "The plugin crashes"

And fingscan should have no connection to the FING app on a phone it does not know about it and I don't know how it should communicate with it

Re: READ if fing sucks for you!

Thanks Karl -
I've been having a problem with the plugin since upgrading to indigo 2022. I posted the crash logs for the plugin in a separate thread a few weeks ago but it received no replies so I will repost it below.

----
The plugin reloads over and over again.
Log is below. Thanks for taking a look.

Re: READ if fing sucks for you!

That totally fixed it. Thank you so very much! Is there a way I can buy some donuts and coffee or something?
