Feature Request : Add all MAC addressed to ignore list

I want to use the feature that allows you to ignore MAC addresses, but the list I have is about 80 devices long. So I'd like to start by ignoring ALL MAC addresses and then removing the ones I want from that list (using existing functionality)

IS there a shortcut to this? A way to bulk add MAC addresses to the ignore list without using the plugin GUI?

Re: Feature Request : Add all MAC addressed to ignore list

1. stop plugin
2 edit
/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 2021.1/Preferences/Plugins/com.karlwachs.fingscan/ignoredMAC
NOT with TEXTEDIT but a program editor like bbedit, sublime, espresso, textwrangler
to add macs, add:
Code: Select all
{"AA:BB:CC:EE:FF:11":true,
"A1:BB:CC:EE:FF:11":1,
...}
you can add new lines as you see fit
save
3. restart plugin
make sure the a, b,c,d,e,f are upper case and it is true not True , 1 also works

Karl
textedit will make " curly " and then the read in the plugin blows up

What does ignoring actually do. I was hoping it would prevent the device from showing in the indigo client

Re: Feature Request : Add all MAC addressed to ignore list

it should do

if exist: do not change anything, you can delete and it should not be recreated
if does not exist: do not create

In the past you could only ignore after it was created, now you can edit the ignoredMAC file and add new mac number to be ignored

!! you need to stop the plugin, edit the ignoredMAC file,
if you want, delete the ip device as well as the ip variable
then restart the plugin !!

Re: Feature Request : Add all MAC addressed to ignore list

ok. I added using the format you gave me. (using Sublime Text) When I use the plugin menu to remove an item from the ignore list, the dropdown was full off 1s

Code: Select all
{"30:8C:FB:18:F5:4C": 1, "D6:E7:C5:91:4D:2B": 1, "00:17:88:6D:06:EF": 1, "F0:5C:77:2D:0B:CD": 1, "88:71:E5:0B:CF:E6": 1, "64:16:66:CD:90:71": 1, "3A:7A:A5:B0:E3:B4": 1, "18:B4:30:29:19:E6": 1, "48:5D:36:CB:27:6B": 1, "18:B4:30:03:74:1C": 1, "D6:54:EB:9B:27:97": 1, "A8:86:DD:A8:CE:7D": 1, "24:4C:E3:52:28:DA": 1, "90:CC:DF:E4:35:63": 1, "36:88:A9:2B:3E:01": 1, "18:74:2E:99:3C:C4": 1, "50:EB:71:9B:60:C7": 1, "00:24:E8:DB:65:F5": 1, "00:03:7F:11:4C:46": 1, "58:CB:52:01:15:EA": 1, "D8:28:C9:25:34:80": 1, "D8:61:62:DF:D4:4F": 1, "D8:0D:17:2C:51:C0": 1, "8A:A3:3E:F5:73:C0": 1, "4A:DA:A4:9A:5B:60": 1, "A0:CE:C8:40:82:12": 1, "5C:AA:FD:E8:71:8C": 1, "6A:1F:81:8D:84:51": 1, "D8:61:62:A7:2A:E1": 1, "EE:F0:18:C6:F7:B3": 1, "12:CA:78:DD:04:91": 1, "D2:45:D6:46:16:5C": 1, "F0:F0:A4:E5:7C:9E": 1, "00:F6:20:54:58:22": 1, "54:2A:1B:86:20:EE": 1, "24:FC:E5:E1:61:6A": 1, "00:04:20:ED:08:6A": 1, "64:BC:58:EC:2D:77": 1, "E8:A0:CD:64:08:2A": 1, "FC:49:2D:CE:61:11": 1, "AC:AE:19:63:3E:5B": 1, "18:B4:30:30:DA:86": 1, "56:3E:9B:3E:20:31": 1, "74:42:8B:91:45:E9": 1, "7E:36:ED:F9:97:E1": 1, "40:EC:99:4F:71:8F": 1, "F8:B9:5A:46:F7:94": 1, "B8:17:C2:BD:95:3B": 1, "5C:AA:FD:5A:96:66": 1, "78:28:CA:AB:C5:44": 1, "34:7E:5C:13:25:34": 1, "3C:6A:2C:14:44:90": 1, "6A:D5:23:15:78:0D": 1, "18:B4:30:08:26:F3": 1, "50:32:37:A5:73:21": 1, "30:B2:37:85:6B:FC": 1, "E4:E7:49:B5:8C:AB": 1, "28:E7:CF:D6:E6:19": 1, "34:36:3B:83:D2:0C": 1, "00:0E:8F:87:55:87": 1, "34:7E:5C:12:EA:72": 1, "6E:A5:52:E7:02:01": 1, "B4:9C:DF:83:F1:00": 1, "10:9A:DD:A9:6A:B8": 1, "78:28:CA:14:51:B6": 1, "B2:7E:49:95:B0:47": 1, "10:DD:B1:D1:AB:6B": 1, "00:1D:C9:34:1A:D3": 1, "AC:67:84:E6:33:1B": 1, "B4:7C:9C:0B:B5:4A": 1, "F0:27:2D:0A:BE:A6": 1, "F0:5C:77:2B:35:20": 1, "A2:3D:B0:98:E3:08": 1, "32:FE:85:A9:CF:CA": 1, "74:75:48:62:BC:AC": 1, "7E:25:B1:A3:76:52": 1, "B8:F8:53:FD:C9:D1": 1, "30:8C:FB:13:78:2A": 1, "E4:5E:37:30:95:03": 1, "D0:E7:82:D8:9D:19": 1, "00:24:9B:29:82:81": 1, "00:03:7F:85:AD:C3": 1, "B0:FC:0D:45:26:C7": 1, "8A:F3:37:AE:C5:E7": 1, "28:18:78:72:5A:9D": 1, "68:9C:70:98:84:4E": 1}

When I use the plugin GUI to add an entry to the list, it uses a different format

Code: Select all
"B2:7E:49:95:B0:47-new-10-B2:7E:49:95:B0:47-192.168.1.230",

Re: Feature Request : Add all MAC addressed to ignore list

Yes that is true

In the menu the name of the device is added to the text shown

That does not create a problem in the logic.
