Can Fing scan other VLANs?

Thanks again for the plugin.

I have a more advanced network setup. My Wireless AP's have a guest network that is on a different VLAN than my main network. Therefore my Mac running Indigo is not on the guest network. However since it's all connected to the same router, I can give access for my Mac to ping the guest network, but it would not receive any broadcast packets.

My question is - Can Fing and your plugin be set up to scan a second network this way, one that is a different network than the one the client computer is on? Right now my guests generally use the guest network, but if the person is a fequent guest and I want to be included in my home automation setup, I have to move them onto the main network. I'm trying to avoid having to do this.

Re: Can Fing scan other VLANs?

50% fing s Job is listening to broadcasts — that will not work
Then it does a scan of devices once a minute —that might work

Currently you can setup only one network to be scanned in fingscan. It can be any network range you like.

So likely no , but you can simply try it out.
Set the network to be handled to the vlan network and see what happens.
