feature request/or maybe it already exists

I see you have made some amazing updates to this plugin.

I see I can now set network size from a starting address. i.e. 192.168.xxx.xxx and set the smallest size gives me 27 address to scan.

Problem for me is, that's still too many:( I currently have only 4 devices on my network that I want to monitor. Is there a way to define a start and stop address?

Ideally, I would like to configure a scan on 192.168.1.20 to 192.168.1.24 (or whatever range I need - in this case 4 ip's)

Is this something that is possible??

Thanx in advance

Is there a problem if you scan 0-27 ?

no problem, works fine, just gives me more address's than I need to monitor.

It was just a suggestion to allow for a bit more flexibility:) Not something that is needed:)

I could easily do 0-3. 4 0-7
But eg 23-27 would be more involved

Re: feature request/or maybe it already exists

Looks like I am now able to set a starting IP - which is great!

My suggestion would be for a smaller range to scan...

ie
start at 192.168.1.20
scan 0-3 (4 address scanned - 192.168.1.20, x.x.x.21, x.x.x.22, x.x.x.23)

or

scan 0-x (user provides consecutive range to scan)

Just a thought. Works great the way it is too and I'm sure there are other's out there who need the full scan range.

Re: feature request/or maybe it already exists

added option to only scan 3=0-8 devices ,4=0-15 devices (beside 5=0.. 16 devices to .16=0..65k devices ) network scope . ==> indigo store v .23

you should be able to set network start 192.168.1.16 and scope = 3 that should set the network scan to .16.. .23

starting with .20 might not work. you likely need to start with 0/2/4/8/16/32/64 ...
but you could try..

Re: feature request/or maybe it already exists

WOW!!!

That was quick:) You must be bored - lol

That seems to do the trick...

Network starting address 192.168.1.152
Network type = /29 = 3 bits: 0..7
Set the fingscan device to wifi only

Bingo! It only returns 3 active address's between 192.168.1.152 and 192.168.1.160 (8 address') which is what I needed.

Now... Just because I have to ask...

How many address would the following return if they are even possible options:)
2 bits:
1 bit:

Just trying to keep processing efficiency as high as possible (don't wanna stress out the network or the old MacMini) :D

Thanx Karl!!!!

Re: feature request/or maybe it already exists

3=7
2=3
1=1

i guess

Fing does an address scan 1/min and that goes very quickly for 0-255 and does not create a lot of network traffic .

0-7 should be fine for the lower limit ..

I essentially added this if someone has more than 0-255, then and adding less was easy
