Hey Karl,
I have a Tivo that uses their wireless-N adapter. The problem is, it manages to associate the same MAC address with 2 ip's. Don't ask me WHY that is, mind you, as I'm still trying to figure this out ( I think it has something to do with the way it access the wireless network via an access point and duplicates the MAC address):
a8-20-66-32-ae-96:fing shrxman$ arp -a | egrep "221|232"
tivo-746000190998b82 (192.168.2.221) at 0:11:d9:3a:80:5b on en0 ifscope [ethernet]
? (192.168.2.232) at 0:11:d9:3a:80:5b on en0 ifscope [ethernet]
Anyway, when I start up the fingscan plugin, I keep getting reports of the IP address 'flapping', and the following log entry:
fingscan MAC#:00:11:D9:3A:80:5B -- old IP: 192.168.2.232 ; new IP number: 192.168.2.221 to switch off changed message: edit this device and select no msg
I found the device in Indigo, but can't see where i can select "no msg". Is this a legacy message from old functionality, perhaps, or am I looking in the wrong location.
thanx again for all that you do out here in IndigoLand
