Re: [Solved] No Plot history after installing Indigo 7.3

Ok, just if I wanted to try again:
Where would I put the password for the psql database?

And another question:
Why does it open a script editor with a InstallGnuPlot script every time I start Indigo even though I have selected Matplot?

Re: [Solved] No Plot history after installing Indigo 7.3

and another find:
I have a directory under plugin/preferences in 7.4.1 as the attached screenshot shows.
An almost identical directory is found under myusername/indigo/IndigoPlatD
Lokking at the access dates both are used.

Is there some sort of mixup that originiated from the updates of Indigo and the Plugin or is this normal?

Re: [Solved] No Plot history after installing Indigo 7.3

and another IndigoPlotD directory found in myusername/documents (This one was last written to 2018)

So where is the topmost reference stored for this directory, please? So I can delete the unused ones?
TIA
Wilhelm

Re: [Solved] No Plot history after installing Indigo 7.3

in the first version all data was stored in the users home dir ../indigo/indigoplod

then indigo suggested that all plugin data should be in /Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7.x/Preferences/Pluginsplugin_name

Hence the plugin now does the following:
1. if there is nothing in the preferences dir it will try to copy everything from .../indigo/indigoplotd to the preference dir.
2. if the presence dir is populated it will ignore .../indigo/indigoplotd

So once the data is moved .../indigo/indigoplotd should be stale = not changed and can be deleted.

you might have PLOT.png files in there = the output of the plugin. That can be set in config to where ever you like.

Thanks Karl,

for the explanation.
I think you missed the two remaining questions before:
Where would I put the password for the psql database?

And another question:
Why does the plugin open a script editor with a InstallGnuPlot script every time I start Indigo even though I have selected Matplot?

Cheers

Re: [Solved] No Plot history after installing Indigo 7.3

>> password: why did you install psql w password. I don't thing the indigo data (datestamp value) warrants any password protection.. this makes live a little more complicated.

open terminal and type/ paste:
Code: Select all
/Applications/Postgres.app/Contents/Versions/latest/bin/psql indigo_history -U postgres  -c  "SELECT * from device_history_##a valid dev##;"
then
PGPASSWORD=YOUR_PASSRORD /Applications/Postgres.app/Contents/Versions/latest/bin/psql indigo_history -U postgres  -c  "SELECT * from device_history_##a valid dev##; "

and replace ##a valid dev## with a valid indigo device id# (one that does not have too many changes .. otherwise the output can be very long), you can right click on a device in indigo and copy the id
and replaceYOUR_PASSRORD with the psql password

when you have that working send me the command string with the password xxxx-ed

>>Why does the plugin open a script editor with a InstallGnuPlot script every time I start Indigo even though I have selected Matplot?
could you elaborate, what script editor?

Re: [Solved] No Plot history after installing Indigo 7.3

Hi Karl,

I installed it, because I didn't find a Postgres Package (for MacOS 10.9.5) that let me install it without a password.
Never mind, I finally decided to drop Postgres because it seems to conflict with the postgres instance installed by the MacOS Server component as well.
Sorry for that.

Concerning the script, I attached a screenshot with the script. The Applescript editor with this script always opens when I start Indigo.
I just have that since I upgraded to 7.4.1 using the latest version of your plugin.
I don't want to bother you any longer with this. It's been taking too much of your time already.
Thanks again for your help.

Wilhelm
